All the people applauding this should be spending more time on actually reading the article instead of comment based on the headline...
No better time to release Cat S62 than now. Should already be in last month based on past.
Ok so they're not spending one penny on that, just providing free credit on a system they would pay for anyway.
Maybe they will make a little less money because of it but saying that they are making a commitment of 800M$ is just misleading and scandalous marketing. Shame on you Google.
"$20 million worth of Google Cloud credits for academic institutions and researchers who are finding ways to combat COVID-19"
those researcher need cash to buy PCR-test kit, vial, test tube etc to combat covid-19.. they can't even buy N95 mask with google cloud credits -_-

"Most of it comes in the form of ad credits."
Thank you, GSMArena. That one sentence alone says everything about Google, isn't it?
Pretending to be saints while denying how this disease came to be?
Excellent. Now acknowledge the Pixel motherboard problems/ sudden death issues and provide compensation to us, the victims. You are cleverly trying to run away from the problem and suppress it. Otherwise, you are giving away the same money you robbed from us.
After reading the title I assumed Google is going to spend 800 millions buying additional ventilators, or manufacturing face masks, or sponsoring vaccine research, or building new hospitals, or actually doing things so urgently required now. Instead it's... providing credits for business to buy more google ads and more google products?!
