Aryan, 30 Mar 2020MT G80 must really be a solid chipset if it has so many devices lining up for it !Xiaomi and Realme use G80 chips because they are on "fire-sale", and there are no other 4G chips left that they can use for 4G phones.

The real news is MediaTek helio G80 chipset that goes under the hood. Even the Realme 6i smartphone and Realme Narzo 10 have the same chipset.

Redmi 9 (4G SoC) and Redmi Note 9 (SD720G) will be the last two Redmi 4G smartphones. Starting the 2nd Quarter of 2020, the lineup of Redmi will be as follows:
Redmi 9 (4G)
Redmi Note 9 (SD720G, 4G)
Redmi Note 9 Pro (5G SoC, 5G)
(There could be another 5G phone in this series, Redmi Note 9 5G (5G SoC, 5G) coming soon.)

Redmi K30 Pro Zoom (SD865, 5G);
Redmi K30 Pro (SD865, 5G);
Redmi K30 5G (SD765G, 5G);

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2020Instead of poor quality cameras they should just give one or two good camera..if they can make one good camera then they can make two or three good cameras at the same time bu they can't so it's cheaper for them to give you four or five craptastic and useless cameras.

"On paper, the 6i (...) loses (against Redmi 9) in macro (2MP vs. 5MP)"

They're both exactly 100% useless. The back of Redmi 9 looks hideous btw

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2020The camera is a downgrade. The redmi 8 had one of the best sensors imx363 with dual pixel af. ... moreI had Xiaomi Redmi 8, and back and front camera was (at best) ok, even for 100 euros device.. Redmi 7 had better back camera. But my phone was global (so maybe it did't have that Sony sensor).
