He clearly said about editing P40 pro video at 11:16 .

AnonD-754814, 02 Apr 2020Get to the point. Did he mention twice or not ? No. He didn't say you can edit the video later to make it look better at 11:16 mark which means that one doesn't count, hence he only mentioned it once.

AnonD-754814, 02 Apr 2020You just made me watch that video again. the 2nd one at 12th minute, at 11:16 .He said that because there's a high chance that Huawei will alter the camera software drastically through future updates, as unlike S20 Ultra and iPhone 11 Pro it runs on a very early pre-release firmware. He obviously didn't tell people to manually edit the videos using a 3rd party app to get the best results, if that's your concern.

I still think the best camera phone I ever had was the Galaxy S6 with a normal 16 MP lense. I did so much macro photography with that phone and they are the best photos I ever took with any phone I ever owned.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I learn a lot from you every day on the forum:)

I think smartphone photography might have hit a plateau. I don't know if it can get any better than now until something completely new tech arrive.

What phone do you have now?

Emeline Shaw, 02 Apr 2020The macro shots are good. I like them.Considering How old/non-flagship the phone is, the photo quality is good. I thought you might like the Alpha as this device also do less sharpening unlike other Samsung.

I miss those days when Samsung was better in most areas.

Anyway I think you're missing out something.
90Hz isn't in the middle. 60Hz is the balanced one as anything under 30Hz is noticeable to the eyes. I meant frame noticeable. so, 60Hz is the balance. Beyond this refresh rate the more the better.
Just like I criticized Samsung about not giving option to consumer to choose 1440p@120Hz. Samsung ships the phones at 1080p . That's enough. The battery life should be consumer's choice.
If Samsung thought about the battery life so much why did they even gave the option of the app storing(something like it) in the memory instead of fully closing it ?

AnonD-754814, 02 Apr 2020You might want to re-check you information. If they were thinking about battery life they sho... moreOr another possibility is that they found 90Hz a good middle ground between battery life and UI smoothness. They couldn't increase the battery capacity on P40 Pro over its predecessor, and opting for 120Hz would cost them a ton in terms of power consumption hence lead to significantly diminished battery life. Of course I don't know if this was the actual reason, but if it was then their decision to go with 90Hz panel would totally make sense.

Having said that, I still prefer 120Hz over 90Hz any day ONLY IF it comes with dynamic refresh rate support like Apple's ProMotion display: lower power usage when extra refresh rate is not needed, but maximum fluidity whenever the user interacts with the touch panel in some way. Maybe they will move onto higher refresh rate panel when they manage to put a larger battery on next year's P50 series. Maybe.

If they were thinking about battery life they should have sticked to 60hz.
Everyone knows there are options to refresh rate. So, if the consumer want more battery life they just can switch to lower refresh rate.
So, there are only two possibilities.
Huawei is cheaping-out or the kirin 990 doesn't support it just like it doesn't support 8k recording.

If you d... moreI watched the latest video and there was one time he used the word "edit" at 9:04 mark (Correct me if I'm missing any), but the context there was that you *can* technically edit the photos to make it look more natural but he didn't do that because he wanted to keep everything fair and simple.. and then he proceeded to conclude that iPhone 11 Pro has the most balanced nighttime photos. So I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at.

AnonD-754814, 01 Apr 2020I think that's highly possible. Is there any source to prove that the Kirin 990 supports 120... moreNope, which means there's no way for us to tell whether sticking to 90Hz was a conscious decision made by Huawei to save battery life, or was due to the display supplier BOE not being able to produce 120Hz panels, or simply because the chipset doesn't support such refresh rate. I just asked you for the source because you seemed like you were quite sure about Kirin 990 not being able to handle 120Hz, that's all.
