LilPhone, 01 Apr 2020So much for sourcing most of their components from 3rd parties. Hope Apple stops relying on Ch... moreJDi is Japanese.
If they stopped relying on parts from East Asia, and made them all in 'murica, you'd be paying triple the price if not more.

Hope Apple stops relying on Ch... moreThey get assembled there because most of the components are made there or close i.e. Japan, Korea and Taiwan. JDI probably makes their LCD/Oled screens in China. You can ship the components to be assembled elsewhere but that would just add to the cost. Not to mention the lack of expertise or capacity to produce at high volumes. China has been doing it for a while and they still do it very well.

So much for sourcing most of their components from 3rd parties. Hope Apple stops relying on China's workforce to assemble their phoned to reduce the prices of the iPhones.
