from PA Huawei P40 Pro review ...
"As you can see from our display quality measurements below, it is a bit better calibrated than even Samsung's panel on the S20 Ultra, with better white balance, less shift at an angle, and more credible color gamut coverage in the colder nuances."

It really sucks that they are now again a supplier for Huawei phones. I'm not paying 400 dollars more for the +version just to get a Samsung display.

I was considering buying the P40 Pro to check out its great cameras but I think I will hold off due to the screen bleed issues on the P40 Pro version.

It's just a matter of time until the first batch of defective P40 Pro displays emerge - mark my words. P30 Pro didn't use a single LG panel for their phones and there were no problems..

P40 Pro will now again use LG panels. Huawei lied again. Earlier they stated that they would only use BOE panels for the P40 series. Typical Huawei they lie about everything - last time it was about their mobile phone photo samples which turned out to be captured on a DSLR camera..

[deleted post]The problem was ONLY prevalent on LG panels, and not on BOE panels. I commented on the controversy extensively, so i remember the facts.

Huawei should've stopped working with LG after that, but i guess it was a business decision. Still, i would assume LG would've fixed the problems in their newer panels after the backlash. Mate 20 Pro came in 2018, and we haven't heard much about any major display issues on any recent Huawei flagship, so things seem to be stable.

Nick Tagataka, 02 Apr 2020So to get the best display you need to pay $400 more. Gotcha. It's so unfair. These manufactureres are using more and more dirty tricks to skip costs. It's the same problem with Samsung and their SD vs. Exynos chips.

BOE displays have great backlight bleed and greenish tint.
