Newer sensors are already expensive.
Samsung would have to start almost from zero and pay royalties that would increase even more price.
Be sure will be 144/36MP for xiaomi and 144/16 or 144/12 for Samsung.

Furiounx, 02 Apr 2020Lol all these anonymous comments thinking 144MP is actually gonna make a noticable difference...They don't definitely think that way, though we will finally get out of the weak 12MP anemic hardware drab., that was dragging on so long, finally nice to see Megapixel war heat up as well as sensor wars too.

Sensor is bigger , which means lenses and OIS get bigger too.
Bigger sensor generates more heat, since you cannot use low litography like CPU.
Also phones have to bigger even bigger to fit all other components. 1" is more than 50% larger than Isocell HMX used by Mi10 ......

Pro+ will pass 130 because higher zoom scpre than P40.
