I think they still have the crap LCD screens somewhere and don't know what to do with them. I would be happy to give money if Apple finally came with up to date specs and looks, no notches, no thick bezels and nice 90hz screens. But that wont happen any soon so I have to get other phones.

Buy this phone for $500 with 256gb and it will receive iOS updates until 2025. With a one time battery update in 3 years, it's right around $100/year.

For $399 this is great deal. Even $499 for 128/256GB version.
Apple A13 is great CPU. Latest from them and will rock it for 3-4 years without any problems.
Also Apple support is great true the years, so we can expect updates for 5+ years.
If they update the camera too, this is my next purchase.
I want to leave Android for a while.

I doubt Apple would make an ultra-budget iPhone, but I'd really love a phone that's essentially the iPhone X without any front sensors, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Though if it were Apple, this ultra-budget phone would still cost $700+.
