YUKI93, 08 Apr 2020So really, the most notable difference between the two are the screen, camera setup, and IP68 ... moreWireless charging and battery capacity are also notable differences here.

They should have went with telephoto on both models.

Really?! OnePlus 8 is 200 and some euros more then the 7T when only offers 5G which is pretty much unusable for 95% of people + it is not aa power efficient as it should be. This phone will be a failure.

1000+ for OnePlus?, 08 Apr 20201000+ Euros for a phone that has just decent camera setup, no periscope and old telephoto sens... moreThe S20 Ultra is €1,379 with only 128GB memory. And the screen is not going to be as good as the OnePlus as it does not have factory calibration OnePlus will be doing. The SoC in the 8 Pro is better. The 8 Pro wireless charging is twice as fast. The Ultra has a better camera (probably). The Ultra has a 10% larger battery. I won't bother comparing the OS on them.

Do you think these differences warrant a €359 price increase over the 8 Pro?

S20 Ultra 12/128 - €1,379
8 Pro 12/256 - €1,020

It’s really sad what mobilephone companies are doing right now with pricing. They are burrowing their own grave. Especially OnePlus (Pete Lau) he is now against his former ideology. His company makes no more sense right now. Better buy iPhone or Samsung then.

Well, I can see value proposition compared to S20 line in Europe, since this is better than Samsung with Exynos, but since Samsung's prices will soon fall down I don't see some average Joe buying this one over familiar brand name Galaxy phone.
Certainly, this is not "flagship killer" anymore...I could say that Oneplus 7t could be killer of this 8 version.

The saddest part is, once these companies get used to selling their flagships over 1000 Euros, there will never again be any real flagship phone that cost less than 1000 Euros in the coming years.

I keep looking to new flagships from the likes of Xiaomi and Oneplus that I never used but admired from afar to move from my Galaxy Note 10+ too but with these prices I am sticking with the Note.
With no SD card I need the 256gb 8 Pro and that's gonna cost more than my G Note 10+.

Totally mental.

So really, the most notable difference between the two are the screen, camera setup, and IP68 rating? I can definitely live with FHD+ resolution, but useless macro instead of much more useful telephoto? No thanks, not a chance. IP68 is rather subjective to a person, so I wouldn't comment much on that.

P.S Waiting for a sibling rivalry between the OnePlus 8 Pro and the Oppo Find X2 Pro, especially in the camera department.

For that price Oneplus will have a hard time selling cause S20 cost €800 and unlike previous Samsung's this is really a bang for your buck

Boldy, 08 Apr 2020These prices don't make any sense. The OnePlus 8 (regular) is not even an upgrade from the 7T.... moreThis is not fake, there were rumours about Xiaomi Mi 10 phones getting expensive and they were true.
5G technology is very expensive plus OP finally settled lol.

These prices don't make any sense. The OnePlus 8 (regular) is not even an upgrade from the 7T. It has the exact same specs except the processor, but omits the telephoto lens. And for that the price has increased so much? That doesn't make sense at all.

I believe the leak is fake. I'd wait for the official announcement as these prices are crazy. If these are true though, the phones are DoA.
