- instead of deleting the old OS installed, it will install the new update in different memory partition and so on and so forth until your phones memory is full.

Welcome to Android reality, device fragmentation is in the blood.
AnonD-896879, 08 Apr 2020Could someone explain this to me ?I didn't understandFrom what I can understand, a phone with Android 11 must have two partitions in the internal storage. One (partition A) with stable Android 11 for daily use, another one (partition B) with a duplicate of partition A ready for Android 12 updates so that it can be installed and ready to be used when you reboot the device.
P.S I wonder what would happen with partition A once Android 12 is installed.
Nice one Google hopefully your next big move will be to force 3 years of major updates to flagships and 2 to mid range
AnonD-896879, 08 Apr 2020Could someone explain this to me ?I didn't understandDon't worry. It's literally meaningless
There are still a lot of people with phones with only 16 GB internal memory (or even 8 GB)...good luck having two 4 GB OS partitions...just a few GB left.
AnonD-896879, 08 Apr 2020Could someone explain this to me ?I didn't understandIt's something like dual BIOS. An update is being applied to the second OS while you are still using your phone with the main OS active, as far as I understood.
the exact same article from xda:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-virtual-ab-seamless-updates-android-11/
I hope Google also disallows manufacturers from adding software overlays to Android in the future for a more seamless/familiar software experience. Add all the extra hardware features you want, but pull GMS from manufacturers like Samsung such a tease that they release incredible hardware absolutely crippled by their terrible software decisions.
Could someone explain this to me ?I didn't understand
potato4k, 08 Apr 2020So OEMs will simply stick with Android 10 as the out of the box OS to get around this. Simple.Only until the 10 is no longer supported or upgradable

Lulz,no matter what google do the scumbag manufacturers will still only support is updates for 2-3years maximum peer device, updates will still be slow and not available at the same globally
intresting.
freedom is never absolute. trust big brother. =). OH Well, Flagship phones are becoming harder for me to buy with how ""SAFE"" Their new technologies are. TRUST the goverment. TRUST google.TheY NeVer Lie. oH well, Time to switch to CRAple and go buy a CraPphOne. They are ToTaly TruSTWorTHiy.
Eventually, this will reduce misleading companies using Android as a selling point but it does not have GMS.
AmyHopps10, 08 Apr 2020What if people wanted android 11 on their phone that came with 6.0 or 7.1?Hard luck mate
