Jobaz, 09 Apr 2020What a dubious headline.........everyone has a right to be innovative. You can't be innovative when you take the innovation of someone else and make it your own with minimal changes.
(I'm not saying that they're stealing, mind you)
More of a publicity stunt to match apple than to actually serve its purpose. Credit cards are less popular in China as (generally) Chinese people prefer to pay for purchases outright rather than on credit. Also, Alipay and WeChat Pay dominate the market for mobile payments in China, as these payment platforms are far more accessible (does not require NFC, operates with QR codes).
Copycat as always
Jobaz, 09 Apr 2020It's for China and the people there.. Yall should leave Huawei and China alone......so much ha... moreI'm not trying to hate obviously, but I'm just saying *if* this service will be launched outside China I don't see how they will spread it and make it common.
Might get one when available in our region.
"Because Apple has one"?
A ton of companies have started offering their own cards in the last few years and in Sweden some of them have even opened their own banks...
Nick Tagataka, 09 Apr 2020I don't see how this will be even remotely close to being successful outside China at all.. we... moreIt's for China and the people there.. Yall should leave Huawei and China alone......so much hate.. Smh

I don't see how this will be even remotely close to being successful outside China at all.. well unless, they are not trying to do so in the first place. A stupid idea nonetheless.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2020LOL biggest copycats and wasnt there an article earlier saying chinese had the most patents?? ... moreThis is weird public misconception that is somehow spread across the internet. As long as companies have a business outside in western countries, even if they are originated from China, they are under the influence of laws of those countries - which means other companies or individuals can sue them whenever they want and win in the court with relative ease if it becomes proven that there is an IP infringement.
LilPhone, 09 Apr 2020Face the fact that Apple is still the king in mobile payments. Look at Japan highly depending ... moremobile payment has been around since early 2000 long before android exist in japan.. now Japanese people mobile payment is highly depending from osaifu keitai (which operated by many operators/services) not apple pay. But still japanese people mostly prefer cash.
AnonD-888522, 09 Apr 2020You do realise that whole magnetic terminal argument is useless when Samsung pay isn't support... moreNo it isnt useless. Dont tell me its only useful if Apple dpes the strip I guess. Stop hating if some other company has a better implementation than your precious Apple even if it isnt as widely supported
LOL biggest copycats and wasnt there an article earlier saying chinese had the most patents?? :D
What a load of bull. The patents the chinese did are probably copied from other companies. We all know how China is protected from patent infringements and they copy whoever they want.
Imagine a giant motivation poster in front of the company HQ
that said "what they did, we must do"
AnonD-908380, 09 Apr 2020Waiting for comments like: "China is innovative and never copy ideas!".
Face it....Any large companies can get cards issued by Visa/Mastercard/banks etc ... if approved by them. This has been done to death well before Apple came along.
My bank card: my bank/Visa ... I had same my credit card since 1988.
Apple card: Goldman Sach/Mastercard
Huawei card: Chinese bank/Mastercard
Samsung Pay: use any cards
Google Pay: use any cards
Apple Pay: use any cards?
I personally think the Huawei card is rubbish as you have to pay the annual fees.
AnonD-908380, 09 Apr 2020Waiting for comments like: "China is innovative and never copy ideas!". Face it....Both Huawei AND Apple aren't wholly innovative and have copied other companies at certain points in time.
AnonD-908380, 09 Apr 2020Waiting for comments like: "China is innovative and never copy ideas!". Face it....It's just a credit card, get over it. Even the Apple card is just a Mastercard in disguise. Huawei is Union Pay. Even my local supermarket has launched its own credit card.
themohd, 09 Apr 2020Most Samsung flagship phones can pay through contact with the magnetic stripe reader in the ol... moreYou do realise that whole magnetic terminal argument is useless when Samsung pay isn't supported by the same number of banks that support Apple Pay right?
LOL so what if they have technology when they have limited partners compared to Apple Pay?
