Another flagship from 2016 i guess.
I am pretty sure every flagship device for late 2019 and 2020 is more impressive these days.

Knowing that on other occasions they have used photos of reflex cameras, I do not believe anything. That they delete the EXIF and the resolutions are manipulated does not give any confidence. They also conveniently chose a competitor that shows a certain level of noise in their photos. Something that is not seen in the best competitors, how rare... The most funny is that even with noise the competitor's photos looks more natural. XD

I don't know what peoples really want/desire, but I am sure I can say most of us just want a phone able to reproduce the same level of luminosity we see with our naked eyes to avoid the deception of taking a picture where we clearly see something the where we endup with a picture totally black even with flash or a bright flash spot in the middle and black all around...

And we don't want a "night vision" like mode for regular pictures...
Having a "low light optimisation" that allow to see things with better light condition without the glare issue of the flash I am sure can be really great, there are many occasions where in poor light conditions we could use artificially enhanced light, but only if an already, "human eyes" level of light regular picture mode is here.

Am I right ?

TBH, the photos from "Another flagship" look way more natural. Those from OnePlus 8 Pro look more saturated with colours and unnatural.

I think this year again OnePlus couldn't make it with a better camera.

Oneplus haters are out. If Apple or Samsung (or even Huawei) released these photos everyone would lose their respective s***. I agree that turning night into day is a little pointless (personally) but you can actually stop the process before it completes to give a darker, yet still clear, result. And the quality of the photos is actually very good. Especially since most people will only put them on social media which compresses the crap out of them anyway.

uk7866, 09 Apr 2020Ah yes nightmode. Just what I needed to turn night pics into those that look like horrible oil... moreExactly! I don't like this Night Mode trend. Photos taken in these modes don't look like Night scenes at all. Photography is about capturing what you see as it is, not capturing a heavily post-processed scene.

Thankfully, certain latest phones can capture detailed photos without resorting to Night Mode.

If "night time" is only about making the image brighter than it actually looks and increasing contrast, no thanks I will go with the "flagship"

Whatever that "other phone" is...it's likely 2-3 years old when nightmode was introduced or a not-really flagship from 2020. I'd be darn wrong if it is either then mi10 PRO, p40 PRO or s20 + aka flagship phones to compare with the Oneplus 8 PRO. Would be stupid to compare a pro version with the normal version, right oneplus?! That said, take a look at the Pixel 3, which photos still look good today, but if you compare them to even 300$ phones with triple or quad cam array 2020...they are pretty weak. And ofc I do have or had those phones ;)
