GMS is important for many users, but it is important not to over-state the significance that GMS is not preinstalled. Many of us probably don't know more than 40% of the android phones legally sold today don't have GMS preinstalled, for various reasons.

Huawei and Honor Phones are no longer an option for me because of lack of Google Mobile Services. Many apps that heavily rely on GMS to work properly won't work. I recently sold my Honor Play 6 GB 64 GB Variant at throwaway price because Honor phones don't have much resale value but it was a good phone, except for the issues like decreased battery backup and touch issues in PUBG after a software update. Stay away from recent Honor phones and thank me later. Play 4T and 4T Pro both don't look good on paper and also in terms of money's worth.

To prepare for more incoming 5G smartphones, most sellers have started 1st wave of liquidation of 2019 4G phones, except for 2019 Honor 4G phones. Most models of Honor 4G phones (2019 models) are surprisingly going up in price, partly because they are selling well and partly because the inventories are low. The production of those 2019 models has been mostly stopped. Once they are out of stock, they are gone.

According to Long (Honor Product Manager for "Honor Play 4T series"), the "T" in "Play 4T" stands for Terminator, signaling this is Honor's last 4G phone series. Honor is bidding "good-bye" to 4G phone production.

This will be among Honor's last 4G phone series to take care of the lower-middle segment (1000CNY-1500CNY, $150-$200) of the leftover 4G market. This series will be followed by Honor 10X series (to be announced in May), a corresponding 5G series, to address the same segment. The price difference between the two series will be less than 300CNY (~$40). This price difference will be steadily reduced to zero by the end of 2020, with Honor Play 4T series switched off and Honor 10X series taking over.
A look ahead towards the end of 2020:
1. For the low, lower-middle and middle segments (below 3000CNY, ~$400):
For the same price, 5G phones will be better spec'd than 4G phones; and for phones with comparable specifications, 5G phones will be priced lower than 4G phones.
2. For the flagship, near-flagship segment:
Except for Samsung flagship phones, all the other phones left are 5G phones.
