My XZ2 with SD845 can kick the latest midranger out of the water both with performance and graphics, so good move by LG.

i see a few similarities with the g8 and from the looks of it i can see that is has the same crystal oled sound technology not sure if it will have the same boom box technology as well. but this device would be a steal if it was released worldwide
I think this is one killer move by LG. Sadly, it won't be something going mainstream. Regardless I think this is how it should be. Not everyone wants or can afford blazing fast latest flagships. Nor do many care about inumerable cameras on a phone. There exists a thing called 'fast enough for average joe' this is one such example.
Also, this isn't the first time LG has done it. They did it way back with a phone featuring SD821 too. But pricing makes a big difference here.
I wish other companies would follow suit, release midrangers with older flagship processors, at exactly these prices. But it might not be economically profitable perhaps. At any rate, Kudos to LG for making this happen.

No point of arguing over the chipset, it's not like LG has thought of something radical such as midranger with old flaghship chip cause other would be doing the same. Those old 8xx chips are still more expensive than 6/7 so It's beyond obvious LG or someone else had stock overflow of 845 and LG got it for cheap. Btw this phone will not utilize everything this chipset has to offer unfortunately but it's gonna be the good phone.
