Anonymous, 12 Apr 2020Will Pixel use IMX689? Atlast?? So longer they stuck with IMX363 Which even the 90$ Xiaomi ... moreThere is a gulf between what each company does with it though. Hopefully Google go for an improved sensor, though I'm worried that their fingers have been burnt. Worried they'll opt for a safe cheap midrange set of devices.
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2020OnePlus always gets Oppp's sloppy seconds. That depends oneplus still hasn't released oppo first gen supervooc 50watt yet?
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2020OnePlus gets stuff Oppo uses. OP7 Pro is a Vivo Nex with few changes. OnePlus always gets Oppp's sloppy seconds.
BestPhoneGuy, 12 Apr 2020It also has the MEMC chip that interpolates clips from a lower frame rate to 90 fpsIt hasn't, its just for the pro model
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2020I think this imx689 is exclusive for oppo just like imx700 for HuaweiOnePlus gets stuff Oppo uses.

the tech nerd, 12 Apr 2020But end result is still much a better photo,if sensor really makes that much difference then p... moreGive to same brand a 1/2.6" 12MP and 12MP 1/1.8" .
Each one for each prototype.
Prptotype with 1/1.8" will do much better , easily.
No differentiator from Samsung S10, I think it will do worse than 7 Pro, which with all the downside of popup camera was having a full display making it quite unique for 2019 and an alternative to Samsung.
J. , 12 Apr 2020Oneplus 8 is just a 7T with SD865 and 200 dollars more expensive, what a disappointment. It also has the MEMC chip that interpolates clips from a lower frame rate to 90 fps

So longer they stuck with IMX363 Which even the 90$ Xiaomi ... moreI don't know about the Pixels, I could have liked those phones, but they accumulate errors and bad design choices...
The ONLY good point about the Pixel 4 is the 3D Facial recognition, and even there the software implementation is quite bad and it is sadly the default Android one...
Knowing the track record of poor design choice of Google, I don't think they would put amazing hardware, mainly they switched to a mid range SoC...
If you want to know which smartphone have the IMX689 or an equivalent autofocus tech, search for "omnidirectional PDAF" in the free text section of the phone finder :
I am not sure about the Huawei/Honor one (they apparently will come with the IMX700, maybe it have the same tech ?) but if you look at the phone, there are 2 Oppo and 1 OnePlus which is a sub brand of Oppo, so they may have the exclusivity on that sensor (or at least they are the first one to use it).
So I really don't think Google will have the IMX689.
I don't know how reliable the informations about the omnidirectional PDAF for the IMX700 is, and based on Kimovil (which isn't more reliable anyway), the Honor have an IMX650, it is only rumored that it will have the IMX700.
But well, appart form that, I don't know, those are rough analysis...

Teal and purple colour? just so happen to be the same shade as offered on iphone 11?
do Android OEMS have no originality whatsoever?
