Years ago, when smartphone started getting PDAF in Dual Pixel (Samsung S7), I said this would help with improving both HDR speed, and more importantly, with the quality of HDR.
Samsung should not have foregone PDAF in Dual Pixel for any flagship. Accurate and fast autofocus is absolutely necessary in all modern smartphones, because the faster a phone locks focus, the more frames one had to play with. Also, contrast detection autofocus cannot replace Dual Pixel in any circumstance.
Samsung needs to ensure that it has DRAM with atleast 120fps at full res. Also, it should have dual or triple ISO gain signals. Preferably, one around the ISO6400 range.
Did I just read s21?
Under screen camera would need a large sensor as less light gets through. OIS moving the sensor would allow multiple shots from slightly different positions, when combined would eliminate the screen pixels for clear image.
s20 ultra and oneplus 8 pro most disappointing phones of 2020
as usual no one will be capable of holding the cradle to the iphone
Hopefully they won't work on gimmickry products like the S20 Ultra & instead focus on making practical phones like the S9 series. Get rid of them holes & gimmicks & upgrade the specsheet.
As for camera. Go for bigger sensor over more megapixels. Also, make sure to go for a sensor that supports at least Dual-Pixel autofocus.
I am curious, considering peoples here are tech enthusiast and not regular buyers who don't know many brands or anything specs wise...
Do you like Samsung ?
I mean, as an inventor, if I had to contact a brand for big and game changing tech (including some solution to make underdisplay camera easier to make while giving better image quality), would you peoples like it to be Samsung or another brand ?
adding on to the perosn below me i would give it to oneplus so that the fans have the best of both worlds. a full bezeless display for people that like the pop up and peace of mind for those that dont want moving parts or want to take photo without the delay of the mechanism.
to samsung because they have a phone for every price and also samsung amoled display are top quality
google cos they are still stuck in 2018 in terms of design language e huge bezels or notches.

Xiaomi, Oppo and their sub brands are definitely in my list already, though I prioritize other country than US and Chinese company first, such as Nokia or Sony.
But it is interesting to know what you'd prefer !

I mean, I'm not too much into tech, but Apple can provide better quality while the Chinese can give more tech at a lower price, with reasonable quality. I was a Samsung boy in the past, but Samsung handsets have slowly degraded over time since the S9.
I think it is better to try this type of camera (underdisplay) in the A81 , the expected successor to the A80 !
