Lui Chung, 14 Apr 2020Agree with Anonymous commenter. Here in Hong Kong, it goes for HK$ 6,999. That's 823 Euros, so... moreChina has everything cheaper. In europe it will def be 1200

AnonD-908380, 14 Apr 2020A 4K panel is highly unneccessary on a phone and Sony seems to forget what phones are. It just... moreWell, I mean, 4K screens on Sony Xperia halo flagship already sticked permanently and became the signature feature of it for a long time, starting from Z5 Premium from 2015, dude. If people want Sony to dropped the resolution to QHD+, that's purely sacrilegious. It's the same offender to remove a S Pen from Galaxy Note series or putting a notch or punch-hole in Mi Mix series or Vivo NEX series.
Dometalican, 14 Apr 2020Galaxy Ultra at that price has a Periscope camera. Oppo Find X2 Pro for CHEAPER has periscope.Samsung is 4x. Not 10x as someone here demands.
Considering the phone doesn't have nnwave 5G connectivity, I'm assuming Americans are only getting the Xperia Pro. To which the only thing I have to say about paying $1,400 for a phone like this is: it better have some GOOD pre-order bonuses or to me, it's not entirely worth it. I'll give Sony credit for having the hardware I love (3.5mm jack, expandable memory, IP68, and beautiful display), I just can't see myself paying THAT much for it.
Anonymous, 14 Apr 2020Samaung is $1600. No 3x, nor 10x periscope is there. Galaxy Ultra at that price has a Periscope camera. Oppo Find X2 Pro for CHEAPER has periscope.
Jovitoreya, 14 Apr 2020Wow is that really a 256gb base configuration because earlier it was 128gb base configuration.... more128GB for japanese carriers.
256GB international version.
Pro has 512GB.
Lui Chung, 14 Apr 2020Agree with Anonymous commenter. Here in Hong Kong, it goes for HK$ 6,999. That's 823 Euros, so... moreright... they can always complain about the price...
here in the philippines... xperia 1 and 5 on gray market retail is about 700usd... 300usd can then be used to buy a sony headphone or earphone...
getting excited about this... will notify the gray market retailer where i planned to get xperia 1 before... that is if sony still refuse to sell it here in the philippines... so i may get a hongkong version...
Wow is that really a 256gb base configuration because earlier it was 128gb base configuration. Hoping Xperia 5 mark ii will also have this. And dual sim as well then i wont need an sdcard
Anonymous, 14 Apr 2020Samaung is $1600. No 3x, nor 10x periscope is there. Samsung doesn't have 3.5mm audio jack. So Samsung doesn't needed at all, even with periscope zoom)) Samsung still uses it's suspicious battery eater CPU instead of Snapdragon ))
So hyped about this phone. It looks like the most appealing smartphone from the first half of the year.
The price is high, but that's on the same level (or somewhat lower) that the phones it competes with.
Sony needs to get rid of the Xperia name and simplify the naming its outright confusing.
With that price tag, I don't know how it will compete against other flagships.
Agree with Anonymous commenter. Here in Hong Kong, it goes for HK$ 6,999. That's 823 Euros, so much lower than that €1,200 retail price. So, why complain about the price then?
A 4K panel is highly unneccessary on a phone and Sony seems to forget what phones are. It just drives the price higher...They should have used a WQHD panel and therefore lowered the price.
Steve, 14 Apr 2020The price will drop quickly guys don't worry, just give it an extra month or 2.Xperia 1 from last year still cost 880€...
Anonymous, 14 Apr 2020No periscope at that price is a no buy for me. It should have two telephoto sensors, one with ... moreUltrawide sensor is still more useful
