A10 was a quadcore 16nm chip, A11 was a hexa core 10nm chip, A12 was a hexacore 7nm chip, and A13 was a hexa core second gen 7nm process. cpu, gpu and ai engine is better in newer generations. so no, they dont just remake the same chip and sell it with a different name

Hahaha how did ARM architect caught X86? When the first ARM SoC used in a windows tablet in 2017 or 18 with 10% usabilities not even 15% now.. Let alone destroying, it doesn't compare in single way for no reason. But which mobile SoCs you're talking about? The only benchmark is used for comparison of two different architecture by 5% up is the geekbench, where the 4 core intel core i7 (Surface pro 7) completely smashed newer A12z and i5 has almost similar scores.. Whereas these two cpus never can be compared.. I can play 170 gb CoD MW in that 4 core i5 and i3 processors.. Where the A12z even will not able to run any kid's games (max 5 gb) in native 1080p at normal settings..
Benchmarks are a type of cpu computing and stretch tests which measure a specific platform in a specific way. Like one test of 300 pounds body builder in Olympic.. And another test is a 80 pounds noob lifting 5 pounds dumbbells.. I was not even talking about any company.. And obviously ryzen 4800h is no way as powerful (not the 'fast' term, because that's an another thing) as 9900k! Not even close! You're truly a mile away from facts and education! Apple SoCs or SD SoCs are powerful just in ARM optimized benchmark performance test.. That even can't be compared with a decade old core 2 duo or quad.. I repeat! Not even compared with core 2 duo or quad..
Talking about tdp I'm over sure that you don't know about the tdp of A12x or z.. All processors used in surface pro 7 has similar tdp as new a12z.. So you're not even informed with proper informations..

And I don't remember any guy from cse or ee called themselves as scientists rather than engineer.. ARM architecture long time ago caught up with X86 one. And a12z is destroying most of mobile Intel chipset except top gaming ones. I am computer scientist, so I am definitely know what I am talking about. Simply just take one of the best benchmarking tool like Geekbench which does run same work loads regarding OS, so you can easely compare in depth in which calculation which cpu is better. If you still think Intel is some kind of magically producing super cpu's for laptops you need reality check. Just take for example 35-45wat latest ryzen 7 4800h laptop cpu, which basically is as fast as 140watt i9 9900k on its peak. Apple Chipset are long know for insane performance per watt, and it is completely true A12Z goes laps around any intel power efficient chipsets even beating for example top i7 laptop cpu's from 7 years ago like i7 3840qm which is 45watt chipset.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2020can you post more on ARM V9 ???It's all rumours at this point. Anyway, it's just an instruction set so it has nothing to do with performance as such. I believe it will just add more complex instructions as well as better support for AVX-256 and 512 (currently in NEON extension you can only do AVX-128).
ARM SoCs are doing better than expected and I hope ARMv9 will help make them more suitable for laptop and server form factors.

..and apple noobs still think apple A socs are comparable with intel or amd core processors hahahaha. Even my old intel pentium 4 desktop can sync ipad with itunes and charge the battery. Its just an example how the cpu s voltage is high. And it can also flash new os on an ipad. Computer remain computuer whatever don’t compare it to mobiles. (Ipad is just a big iphone).

Or you wouldn't compare a ARM SoC to X86 processors.. They work very much different ways.. Even decades old Intel core 2 duo or quad able to handle more heavy tasks in complicated ways.. The surface pro 7 i5 can run 150+ gb games.. Let a ARM SoC support any 5+ gb games at first.. Even with games with such size the iPad pro won't last a year with continuous gameplay..

Your and my Android phone have processors / cores that start out as top of the line physically and after cutting to size they have underperfoming cores disabled, making them low- or midrange chips.
Basically every single device with a CPU / GPU is part of it.
