why these companies started to push high useless hz displays because this 765g doesn't even support more than 60hz display
that is complete non sense
If this thing really doesn't have a headphone jack, I'm going to lose it.

Dennis.K, 17 Apr 2020Yeah but what i'm saying 144Hz midrangers are uselessIt can handle just fine. Some non-demanding games can run 120 FPS on midrange chips. If you're not interested in it, there's plenty of 60Hz midrange phones out in the market. Let less rich people enjoy flagship features.
Wait, is that the Mandela effect ? Am I hallucinating ? A miracle just happened ?
A 2020 phone with a powerful mid/high range SoC with no punch hole, no notch, but a thin bezel and no curved edges on the display ?
Probably on an OLED (Always On Display, lower consumption, better black and contrast in general and HDR capability) with 144Hz (hopping it doesn't increase too much the price) and 240Hz touch sempling, underdisplay fingerprint reader, which make good pictures and video...
All that with a quick charge and a huge battery (the 2020 average for mid/high/top tier and flagships is between 4000 and 4500mAh).
Did the god of technology finally heard our prayer to deliver us from the evil, to free is from the display and notification destroying hole and notch, to save us from the fragile and stupid to grab curved edges, to give us more battery capacity and to enlighten us with a good camera setup ?

I am laughing at peoples saying the SD 765G can't handle 144Hz, are you crazy peoples ?
The 765G is basically performing the same as a fricking SD 845.
Yeah, the 865 have twice the Antutu score of the 765G, but it is like saying that you can't play games on a OnePlus 6t, Samsung S9+, Xiaomi Mi8 Pro, Asus ROG Phone, Xiaomi Black Shark or Nubia Red Magic Mars...
For mondain tasks 144Hz will be easy to handle for the 765G, and I bet it will perform well on games, even big titles.
And considering it will probably have an option to use it in 60Hz anyway, as long as it doesn't make the phone cost too much, I don't see why 144Hz + SD 765G is a bad thing.
In fact, in 5 years we might start to see entry level and other low to mid tier phones with more than 60Hz displays.
WolfpackN64, 17 Apr 2020If that chipset can't run Old School Runescape over 144 fps, that would be a dissapointment. It probably can't

You can select 60hz option for most of these devices..
As for unnecessary price hikes..
It's inevitable if we didnt have megapixels or refresh rate
I'm sure the law of business would find some other reason to increase prices
Lastly you may not notice but high specs are falling to lower price brackets quicker than normal like 144hz in midrangers
The dumb refresh rate race, even more stupid than megapixel race. Sacrificing price and battery life for something nobody knew they needed it before it became mainstream, it's the magic marketing manipulation. I hope some manufacturers will resist to this useless gimmick. Who feels 60hz not smooth enough on a phone? Yeah, nobody. Most youtube videos are in 30hz, they do not feel laggy ethier. And now most techies I see think 60hz is a dealbreaker on a phone, damn it you are so easy to manipulate.

Majority of smartphone users aren't gamers. They still like high refresh displays though, just because it feels fluid navigating around the UI. That is the reason why all new mainstream phones are coming with such displays.
This phone gives users a really fluid display for a cheaper price than Red Magic 5G. I can see the appeal in that.
Why not provide yesteryear's chipset like Snapdragon 845 and 855 for mid range gaming phones. These processors are more potent and better than Snapdragon 700 series.
I really don't like these high refresh rate mid-range phones, their SoC doesn't even have the potential to take full advantage of that high refresh rate in your favourite games
