If they redesigned the entire phone from scratch, it would also still have a big ghastly notch center-staged as the defining piece of elegance on the iPhone.

One would expect hindsight to correct the failings of the past. But no, the notch reigns supreme.

The last iphones that had a qualcomm modem was iphone6s and iphone7 US. So long after the wait, i finally have the kick to get myself a new qualcomm-enabled iphone this year.

Changing the interface (all screen with gestures) would put off a large proportion of customers they are pitching this at - 6/6S/7/8 owners.

Also, iPhones haven't had a home button since the original SE. From 7 on they've used a fixed touch id sensor and simulated the click with the 'Taptic Engine'.

Companies don't seem to realize this and continue to pump out expensive phones that consumers don't care for. But whats with the screen and the black bars?
                  All that screen space wasted.
And the home button? Hope they have improved it and lasts more than the other iphones before it who had it.

I dont know about this article, but what i am interested is the price of it.
But until then who knows what will happen with the world.

I am not the biggest iphone lover but my first phone was an iphone se in third grade and i loved it so i heard theeres a new iphone se and that was news to me but i was pretty dissapointed. I thought it was an ophone 5s or an iphone 6 with parts from an iphone 11. I mainly think the hone se2 will be the most popular phone in my school because of the budget. My parents pre ordered the iphone se 2. My parent love samsung amd i understand why. the camera is amazing and so is the price unlike apple. My forst phone was an iphone se but my parents offered me a samsung s5 but i chose the iphone because it was smaller so it was mpre compact for my small hands.

Well perhaps "some of the factors"...

You completely ignore that many aPple fans have been hoping for a new SE model of phone size, sticking to their ageing hardware. But by labelling this phablet as "SE", aPple finally put a nail in the coffin of the hope that there is going to be a phone sized Iphony in any reasonable future, so these people go for the least huge option offered, as aPples OTA deteriorations slowly maims the experience using older hardware.

It is really a minority that can fully operate a phablet with one hand while keeping a secure grip. (Sure many can operate a large part of the display, but that is not "fully")

The trend will likely continue until it gets overtaken by Xiaomi or Oppo. I still think Apple makes good phones, but the new SE isn't a good phone and looks like a desperate attempt at regaining market share although in a somewhat absurd way.

Apple is untouched in the premium market. Exactly why Apple's ASP is way more than Samsung and Huawei.

I find iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2 both very uninteresting, since they have low resolution LCD screens. I mean, come on, even my grandma is using a Super Amoled 5.5" display with 1080x1920 pixels (Samsung A7 2015) instead of 828x1792 pixels (iphone 11). I tried iPhone 11 and I couldn't believe my eyes how bad it is. I seriously hope iPhone 12 will have an OLED display with better resolution.

Milions.... moreLMFAO....you either need to read the article thoroughly or work on your comprehension skills. It's comical how you interpreted the article to somehow favour Android.

It stated that there's a much bigger demand for the iPhone SE at the expense of the more premium iPhone 11.

The price and of course the pandemic are the factors. Since, Apple only play in the premium market segment, it only make sense for them to predict a reduction in shipment for Q2.

I think it's absolutely laughable that you thought Android is a major contributor to this prediction of decline in shipment LOL.

The first iPhone SE actually converted a lot of fandroids into the walled-garden. This second version will eat into Android's higher mid to premium segment. Not all fandroids are obsessed about specs. Apple's brand power is very strong in the developing world and is definitely still viewed as a status and luxury symbol.
