Remember folks that this is a Chinese phone. Nowt wrong with a Chinese phone, but you may be forgiven for thinking that 'Motorola' was a standalone US company (it was until 2012), or is owned by Google (it was until 2014).
Motorola is owned by Lenovo, as is the brilliant former IBM ThinkPad series renowned for its superb quality. The only gripe is, one pays extra for the ex-US brand name.
Nick.B, 22 Apr 2020xperia 1 mark II is 1400eur no chance for 1200Xperia 1 ii is 1200 Euros that is the pro version with 1400€
Finally Motorola coming up with some exciting stuffs. I'm not sure of the price as there are other brands with more reputation but I hope these phones do good.
In terms of pure specs(no consideration of software support, brand/resell value, etc.) I feel like nubia play may be a bit better than motorola edge. Although the camera of nubia play is worse than the edge, it gets the advantage of higher refresh display and a smaller price point.
I have no idea of how they compare in terms of other aspects, though.

Nothing so far about Asus and HTC.
I want to see flagship from HTC with front speakers and a custom 20MP 1/1.5".
I love the edge 'cause I don't like Qualcomm flagship chipsets, too much for me.
I can see promotions on this phone coming soon because of poor sales. Nothing justifies the high price tag on this phone.
So another phone with 108mp camera. Good to see, sensor sizes around the 1/1.3" mark on flasghips this year.
Next phone to use this sensor is the Zenfone 7.
Anonymous, 22 Apr 2020Sensor is not able of 8K , just 6K. Reason the 8K on xiaomi is upscaled from 4K. Upscaled from 6k actually.
I doubt they will sell many of these phones. They are too expensive for the features they provide. Motorola should stay in the lower-mid range market. They were never strong in the premium devices market.
So glad more companies are putting pressure on Apple and Samsung as they are spoiling the mobile market with too expensive phones, just can"t wait to see a review of both these phones, and with Nokia joining soon wih there new models, will this finally make the top two over pricing phones
Phones fan, 22 Apr 2020Motorola is on the right track, Sony and LG should learn.

Selling more does not give right to overcharge by 30%.
1080p but 1000usd?? At least LG has the common sense to lower their price with 1080p screen.. Two of it!

The problem is, most of these phones will not sell well at all if they're not from the biggest brands with the best name recognition. There's just sticker shock that is going to cause them to lose a sale. Your average person will typically buy the best phone they can afford from a big name. Motorola is a big name, but not in the smartphone world. These companies don't realize they need to make phones they can move real volume of.
Hzlph, 22 Apr 2020Tf you mean they will "at least" update to 11? This should easily last up to 12 (or 13, to be ... moreIKR! even 100$ budget phones are likely to get android 11 xDDD
Q: The Edge+ will be single SIM only?
Edge seems duals SIM - can´t believe the + Version won´t have that feature?
MajorD, 22 Apr 2020well, Moto(rola) is owned by LenovoYes, but they sell Moto branded phones for higher price than Lenovo branded ones. If you compare the launch price of Moto Edge+ with Lenovo Z6 Pro, you'll see a huge difference.
They're charging extra for the Moto brand name.
Motorola is on the right track, Sony and LG should learn.
The price is a little high for my budget.
