I absolutly love what AMD are doing, they have won the cpu business, now all they need is for us to start buying. I am personally using the ryzen 7 3700x, wow it is a beast. i got it on sale for $260, which is amazing considering it has 8 cores.
My PC if anyone is wondering:
Ryzen 7 3700x
RTX 2070 Super
16gb DDR4-3200 ram ( 8*2) Corsair RGB ram
2t Samsung 860 QVO ssd
4t Seagate HDD
MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard
650W platnium EVGA powersuply
Lastly, i have the Thermaltake AH T600 case

zyren, 23 Apr 2020can someone recommend me a couple of good AMD CPUs for gaming & multitasking, which do not... moreAMD 3600/x 6c/12t + RX 580/GTX1650S/GTX1660S + latest B550 MB with native PCI-E 4 support.... The Nvidia card wont take advantage of pci-e 4 as they still only support pci-e 3 so maybe go for RX 5600XT as RX5500XT is gimped with only pci-e 8x not the full 16x bandwidth.

On topic, Happy and amazed to see what AMD has made happen over the years. Here I am, stuck on an Intel i5 4670k (4C/4T) , bought for nearly 180$, that too 'used.'
And now they're selling faster ones, with more threads, at 99$ new.
Keep it up AMD!

Your Pentium was on a bigger manufacturing node and that causes more heat aka a higher TDP. Modern silicon is more efficient because of smaller nodes like 7nm. This one however is 12nm I think.

I dont know you guys, but reading "low end entry point" and then seeing that 65W in there seems like something out of the place. Shouldnt that be lower? 65W is what my Pentium Dual Core used way back in 2007.
can someone recommend me a couple of good AMD CPUs for gaming & multitasking, which do not lag or has any issues like overheating, something that's on par with the current 10th gen or even 9th gen i7?

I told him at that time to go with at least Ryzen 5 1400x which was cheaper than i5 7400.

If you have the older CPU then it just takes a few mins to install so nothing to hustle. As a buyer always contact the sellers for the bios information.

[deleted post]Bios installation does take longer than with a regular Intel PC. But the advantages of AMD are far greater. It offer a lot more bang for the buck.
Not to mention the new 1200 revision, AF :P
However coincidental, the naming is *very* on point. Ryzen As F[beep], a 4/4 CPU for $50 which likely goes above 4Ghz on all cores OCd, something the original 1200's (AE) uarch couldn't do
