CringeFest69, 23 Apr 2020Probably the i3-9100FThat's a budget processor without multi threading or other high performance hardware abilities. It's not bad, but it's not comparable to any Ryzen.

[deleted post]Nice try Intel. I have an R7 2700 for two years and had zero issues. No bluescreen or anything. And I'm running it overclocked.

I didn't need 8 cores, but I figured coming from a 4 core intel CPU I might as well double them.

[deleted post]I'm using a (1st gen) Ryzen 5 1600 since 2017. I bought it just one month after it was globally available. I never had system instabilities. Only the early bios versions of my motherboard in 2017 didn't support every RAM speeds, but this is already 3 years ago. Since then, the bios is solid. But that was foreseeable, since it was a brand new platform.
Since the latest bios updates, my motherboard supports even the (3rd gen) 16core/32threads R9 3950X. Try this with intel...
If i would took the Intel route back then, i would have stuck today with an not upgradable i5 7500 4c/4t cpu (or an i7 4c/8t). And intel security patches that would had lowered its performance even more.

The closest Intel equivalent by specs is the Core i3-9300 and maybe the i5-9400F.

The ryzen 5 1600 is less than 100$ in my country.
In my opinion, the best bang-for-the-buck CPU is the ryzen 5 1600. You literally get an overclockable 6 core 12 thread monster of a CPU for less than 100$. Good job, AMD.

it wasn't until skyrim or fallout 4 (didn't quite remember), where the base game and with added mods start to tax the processor to its limit.

It was pretty decent until it start bottlenecking games that are heavy on CPU.
Kinda regretting on not taking the 4 core one.

Ryzen 3 is coming to laptop as well with Asus spearheading the line.
It trounced the intel side on multicore capability and energy efficiency.

Too bad rumor has it that Intel have started to suppressing and incentivizing laptop maker to not building AMD based laptop.
