Sounds logic - SE has lower resolution, most powerfull chipset... it could be king of smartphones in antutu - ahead more exclusive and expensive iphone 11.
Anyway, underclocked chipset means less power consumption - smaller (cheaper/lighter) battery...
And maybe, it could be possible, that you can use units, which would not be stable in default clock frequency (like intel processor at least many years ago), so apple would get more cost-effectiveness (just my idea).

Guess it's ok for the masses buying laptops paying for 3ghz cpu but getting throttled to under 2ghz at normal operations. As long as web browser works or the laptop isn't shutting down, it's ok then.

i have a s10e exynos version. s10e is not clearly better than SE. the display is better but the phone runs hot and battery backup is poor. oh, my 6 month old s10e already has a faulty USB C port whereas my 4 year old 6s plus has never shown any problem. Sony XZ2 can be a good option but pixel 3 is totally crap with lots of build quality issue.
this iphone would be good for next 3 years at least but can you say the same for the androids? XZ2 is already 2 years old, pixel 3 is already 1.5 years old. why would someone buy those?

I think you should come out of the tech bubble. First this iPhone is compact size very light and thin phone. You are listing those big phones? Why? And seriously you think people buy one phone over another because it has more RAM. Like i said come out of the tech bubble like Marquee also said that exact same thing about this phone, this phone is for 95% of population who don’t care stuffs like that, it will be hit everywhere where people want smaller compact cheaper iPhone

Hardcore gaming won’t be problem if someone want to do that. It will run every game perfectly smooth which you try, that’s the beauty of Apple ecosystem. All the games are so well optimized for only handful of specs.

This phone is not my cup of tea (tiny display short battery life) but it definitely is a great deal

Unless you are super committed to iOS there are a lot of compact android phone that are better than se in that price range

That is useless, since it's display is capped at 60hz, but also it's quite small.
