Looking at these up close makes me wonder who did what to these in terms of editing. There are a lot of funky edges and pixel aberrations. Reminds me of a photoshop gallery filter. If these are straight off the camera then the camera sucks pretty hard.
Every crucial development in mobile invebted by motorola but why photo never been the best except g4+ Vs next year flagship compatitor at the time
Horrible quality in full size crops. Even my old (2015) LG G4, had better details.
Look at portraits, faces are like wax, scary to look :(
YUKI93, 25 Apr 2020Dude, IPS is not important for PC monitor. What matters the most is sRGB, the higher the better.I just said, looking at those photos from Edge(+), on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 screen, they looks more than good, really. Sharp, with details (esp 108mp), and vibrant, better than those taken from the phone.
Yes Note 10 have really great high resolution, high ppi, (and bright enough) Super Amoled screen, is that a reason, or what? I mean, those photos are soo good that they looks like from some DSLR (in Huaweiii style), so, don't get it how someone can say that looks bad. But i guess differente tastes, dude;
Note 10, 25 Apr 2020IPS, oh, ok..Dude, IPS is not important for PC monitor. What matters the most is sRGB, the higher the better.
Camera samples provided by the manufacturer will always be great. Why would any company provide mediocre samples in the press release?
Note 10, 23 Apr 2020You still using Lumia 1020? Phone from 2013, and with software from 2012, even in that time, w... moreI have a Huawei Mate 10 for everyday tasks.
I use the 1020 mainly to take pictures in special events (vacations, birthdays, parties, etc); having a xenon flash is a big advantage. I can transfer everything to the Mate 10 via Bluetooth, it works very quickly.
Also use it to record videos of music concerts and other stuff, because OIS is good and the mics are superb. Some years ago I recorded a metal gig just 3 metres in front of them, in a small club... zero distortion!

Same video played in two different mobiles will indeed tell the difference. Don't bark blah blah without watching the video. Skin tone, colours will tell you which one has good display. Not juts in specs, real world performance is also important
Smithravi, 24 Apr 2020I have read morethan 2-3 rviews about xperia 1. All have different testing set up. Reason why ... moreYoutube display "comparison" is absolutely useless for comparing display colour accuracy because camera obviously cannot capture the colours and contrast in the way human eyes do, and tons of compressions are applied to all uploaded videos, so saying "A obviously looks better than B" doesn't mean a damn thing. And I'm far more inclined to believe two in-depth display panel analysis done by professionals than a Youtube video of a random Japanese guy measuring colour accuracy, sorry.
Lol.. they turn night photo into daylight photo.. hahhaha..whatever motorola... I dont really trust lenovo marketing team.
Note 10, 23 Apr 2020Maybe you looking in those pictures from pure mess device/s? Think about that, because from Sa... moreNo I'm viewing them on a 21" fullHD monitor and they look like sh*t. Overexposed, lack of details, blurry mess when zooming in, white balance off and weird, artificial colors..

All have different testing set up. Reason why you see different values in different set ups. Just watch a youtube video by Japanese guy who is able to get D65 on X1 and measured the least delta values :). YApart from this, watch display comparison between OP7 vs X1. Movies clearly had accurate colours on X1 100 times better than OP :).
Smithravi, 23 Apr 2020But it doesn't cover BT2020 colour gamout. Still fake colours u get on display compared to son... moreI'm not sure where you heard that it recorded the lowest delta E value, but covering wider colour gamut doesn't mean it's better at reproducing colours accurately. You might want to look at these in-depth display analysis on Xperia 1's display and see how it compares against best mobile phone displays out there, they're definitely worth your time.
Honestly I was excited to buy this device but if I'm going to spend 999.99$ for a phone I need waterproof/IP rating. Motorola never makes waterproof phones. They even got a headphone jack. All they needed was waterproof and the phones have been complete

I am pretty sure they wouldn't bother using the dim Xperia panel which is stuck at 60hz.

Phone from 2013, and with software from 2012, even in that time, without apps and games? Yes, Lumia 1020 was camera phone, also, 808 (year earlier with a dedicated SoC for image processing). We live in oli painted and oversharpened image world since 2015 lol.
