Vic4BBM, 24 Apr 2020In my opinion primary things which make the difference in a phone is SoC and OS. If these two ... moreMost SOCs are good enough these days so I would say that battery life is more important.
What's so great about having a lot of performance when you are not able to enjoy it because of the small screen or the small battery?

How can you even upgrade the SOC on 5 year old phone? Lol
You are the one not making sense here.

LMAO, so much wrong in 1 post!

And Google should reinstate all of the apps they pull from the Play store, your info will probably not be stolen. You know, I bet modern SoCs would absolutely _fly_ on Kit Kat, maybe we should all roll back to Android 4...
PartTimePhoner, 24 Apr 2020Something only apple can do. No one would go buy a SD865 powered S7 Edge An SD 865 powered GS7 non-edge would be very attractive to a lot of people these days, I think.
RejZoR, 24 Apr 2020Ppl are forgetting that just throwing high end spec HW at the problem doesn't solve everything... moreIOS is superior? lol.
This phone can only be called a success if it creates a dent in the marketshare of Android which I simply don't see happening. Apple marketshare has been declining steadily every year.
Again most of these paid reviewers are hiding the fact that it's a small 4.7 inch niche device which simply isn't meant for majority of users who are comfortable with the 6.5 inch average screen size offered by the Android world.
These same reviewers mention con's for Android phones when they miss out on SD card or something else but with Apple, guys like mkbhd simply turn a blind eye to these things.
Jd2050, 24 Apr 2020No actually logo’s position is different, so different cases cause u hv to show you own an appleI know I had a typo in mine, but yours was all over. What were you saying?
Anonymous, 24 Apr 2020You don't understand why security updates and OS updates are important. Obviously you don't us... moreUnless a group of hackers specifically target you using the security hole or vulnerability (if it exists) which is not fixed through a security patch, you have nothing to worry about. The likelihood of such a thing happening is 0.00001%.
So lack of security patches don't affect the end user in the real world.
Ppl and several businesses used Intel chipsets for years without issues despite the Spectre & Meltdown vulnerabilities. As I said, unless a team of hackers specifically target you exploiting that security loophole, you are safe.
Ppl continue to fall for marketing gimmicks where they feel if they don't have the latest security patch, they are vulnerable or worse the phone becomes unusable after 2 years. These are the same people that can be hacked using a simple phising link and they are worried about vulnerabilities in the system that are less likely a threat.
"You get what you pay for"
Yes slowed down cpu and battery degradation with updates, that's what you get by greedy companies like Apple.
wakcheng, 24 Apr 2020smart thinking by apple, hyped by internet, bought by gullible people around the world. Normally, I’m against Apple’s pricing tactics, but how could you argue against the fastest smartphone SOC on the market, with guaranteed 5 years of updates in a compact form factor with a reliable camera? And that for 400 dollars!
People who are attracted to this aren’t gullible, they use their common sense. Smartphones are getting way too expensive, way too big, and the cameras and software is not always reliable (especially in this price category). People buy Apple’s because it just works (and that is coming from a Samsung knight). Manufacturers tend to copy Apple, maybe they should also bring out reasonably priced and compact phones again.
this kind of practice are common in business.. for example, realme.. lots of their models based on SD 665 and similar in shape.. and also sometime they just replace only SoC ..like realme 5, 5i, 5 pro they are basically the same

If they were concerned with removing these huge ugly bezels, I might even buy an iPhone SE.. it's really a joke to see that they just changed the battery connector, the camera and the processor. (It explains why the speed looks underclocked on the Benchmarks)

The older the API level, the less likely you are to be able to get the latest apps and app updates. Ending support is planned obsolescence.
