Is this the result of Oneplus's too much calibration ?
Possibly they tuned the display too aggressively.

Wouldn't you like an holographic (like) projector on the back that would work as well as a display when you need a camera and allow amazing 3D visualisations and manipulations though ? :D

Underdisplay is the way I would prefer it. Or pop up.
PartTimePhoner, 24 Apr 2020People cant libe without selfies apparentlySadly, indeed this is the case for many peoples, though you can also find a lot of peoples in favor to ditch front camera without requiring any alternative (any display or something else in the back).
For me, as long as the phone have 3D Facial recognition and no front camera that can't be hidden (like pop up or no front camera at all), I'll be find with a phone that only have ambiant light and proximity sensor in the front as sensor (Fingerprint scanner too, but this is a different type of sensor).
Are you also part of us who can live without front camera ? :D

PartTimePhoner, 24 Apr 2020Why hate punch hole displays? Better than a notchOh dear, this question risk to degenerate into another war as two days ago xD
I hate both punch hole and notch, note that even if it may seem weird, I also hate the concept of underdisplay camera.
I do thin bezel (Nubia Play style), pop up camera and no front camera at all but the only way ATM to get this, is with phone which have a second display on the back.
But note that retinal projector could allow to have no front camera without the need of a second display and still keep all the possibilities (selfies, video call, any filter Instagram style etc) and also to simply put the phone down (front down) and get a 3D holographic view that combined with hand gesture sensors could allow for an amazing interface.
It would allow for combined 3D facial recognition, Iris scanner, palm vein scanner (like LG did), while having a 100% fulldisplay on the front as no camera would be needed.
And while looking at the front, it offer privacy, and at the back, amazing holographic which offer private view (no one else can see what you see except if you allow them), it could even be used as video projector and depth sensor and scanner to improve pictures.
Any attempt at mixing front camera and display prevent this to happen, and the real solutions to have a fulldisplay is the pop up and no front camera.
But what I hate the most about punch hole and notch is that they cause the status bar to loose space for notification and statut icons which is a vital part of Android.
LOL still people like OLED over LCD hatsoff to them.
Nokia's LCD with PureDisplay is still good and durable.

Though if the Karma could really start to kill any smartphone with a punch hole/notch once the brand produce more than 50% of their yearly new model with one of those, it would be such a great thing !
My guess on this issue would be that this is a fault in either the software or hardware part that handle some display optimisation, maybe an overflow on some location based code that have for goal to refresh only certain part of the display causing the optimisation to basically leak everywhere on the screen, but I am not an hardware expert, so IDK...
