Ads and bloatware included?
Annyms, 27 Apr 2020I think you are getting confused between ownership and licensing. Android is owned by Google ... moreI don't think he is confused. I think he just doesn't know what he is talking about.
This will only run smoothly on high end devices... Low end, midrange will struggle to run all those animations and will slow down the phone..
That the only reason i let my mi max 2 to stay on miui 8.. My redmi 7 running latest version, really slow.. Mi 8 & note 8 pro just fine on latest miui 11
Maybe they should use apple strategy.. Only seek partially new features to older devices.
Better dark mode and animation is always welcomed!
James Whister, 27 Apr 2020Placing the phone under the pillow? Few years from now, people will start wondering why there... morePhones emit radiofrequency radiation when they are in use, e.g. during a call or when using mobile data/wifi. When idle it should emit considerably less radiation. Only a tinfoil-wearing fool would believe that this type of radiation can subtly damage your brain. If anything, it damages by heating up tissue but you'd notice it long before any actual damage happens.

Android is owned by Google but is distributed under Apache License v2. The associated Linux kernels are under GNU GPLv2.
As you rightly said other OEMs have put a different "spin" on Android but that is mostly built on top of android as an interface. Only Google manages and updates Android source. That is why we see manufacturers collaborating with Google to introduce their new features in Android. Recently Samsung did this for its foldable devices.

NotAnOpinion, 27 Apr 2020With all these inconsistent Android forks/skins, Google's Android OS will always be fragmented... moreRegardless of Android skins, Android is far from being fragmented, for the seamless and persistent consistency in Android is its ability to data siphon out, and to shunt ads in, the phone.
Looks pretty neat. I am glad they focused on the visuals a lot on this iteration of MIUI. This makes it look a lot more appealing compared to MIUI 11.

Placing the phone under the pillow?
Few years from now, people will start wondering why there is sudden rise in brain related issues.
I bet notifications still won't work properly. Just add more features to cover up year old bugs.
[deleted post]Who is looking stupid? Don't you know that many phone vendors have taken Android and put on it a different spin than Google? Improving on AOSP and stock Android? And that Android uses the linux kernel which is most definitely open source and not owned by google?

Will it be without ads?
Skinned android is much better. It isn't that heavy and ugly as before. It has many useful features. It is fast as well. Stock android or android one never again.

Educate yourself the next time.
