I work with professional cameras and when I read what you talk about.. haha. Zero knowledge. Pixel binning is Sony tech and its good max to 48mpx. Propably Sony 7SM3 will have pixel binning @60mpx (15mpx efective) but thats full frame 35mm sensor :)

There are people who can notice the extra details in 4k, so you can't call it a gimmick just cause you can't notice it.
We haven't even seen the 90 hz equivalent solution they've set up, and you're talking like you've already tried it. It could be good, or it can be bad - but you can't deduce anything cause the phone isn't even out.

The fixed FL of X 1 II's versatile angle is 24mm and its telephoto is 70mm, which's 3x (after rounding off from 2.91x). Gee, the information provided by Sony is very clear from the get-go, yet insisting what isn't provide there. My goodness...

Overall the 4K display is better and important than 120hz refresh rate, because most of the time the user use YouTube, browsing website, social media, messaging/image editing/document editing, Photography, (4K)video recording, watching photo/video/movie, sum up all these are way more than just playing game.
Xperia 1 ii has Motion blur reduction technology, I am looking forward if any review can show the difference between 90hz and 120hz.

A Mi Note 11 with 5G could be interesting if it's still the best jack of all trades to update my phone without enter the overpriced market. Hopes, hopes...

Exyvia, 30 Apr 2020Interesting - I'm not a camera geek But even though the telephoto lens is bringing in 161% ... more161% as much light is distributed over four times as many pixels. Therefore each pixel gets less light, so more read noise is visible in low-light conditions. A resized image would still have more read noise. But if the technology of the sensor was perfect without any read noise (this could be possible in the future), then 161% as much light + a high number of pixels wouldn't really have a noise disadvantage in low-light conditions.

The “super-smooth” display should, therefore, offer a superb overall viewing and usability experience. That is a quote google it, all tech sites have the information.
Comes down to choice, Samsung gives you 120 hz refresh rate but to benefit, your screen is locked to 60 hz on full HD OR equivalent of 90 hertz refresh rate on 4K screen. Your choice, for me it is a no brainer! Xperia 1 ii with super smooth display, 4K screen and headphone jack, please.
