Honestly, whats keeping Nokia afloat isn't because of their high-tier, camphone devices. It was those low-tier, Asha, dual-sim phones.
werwerphs, 24 May 2012''unfortunately he did not say anything about a lumia pureview phone.'' does this mean that th... moreYes. Nokia has scheduled new Symbian phones for 3 more years, they simply/probably won't have any more major software updates. But it's good as it is now.
who cares? nokia is going down with or without milion pixels resolution patetic phones.
What?, 24 May 2012Who said anything about phone not working??? Symbian is a dead OS, no. of apps that is avai... moreI agree. The problem is, Nokia's flagship is not the 808 but a Lumia phone. Therefore, what makes this phone special is the camera alone. Nokia did not pay much attention onto it being a high end smartphone.
hopefully Windows Phone 8 can handle the technology.. or parts of it at least.
During the last ten years I owned many Nokia devices(The last one was N97), after hearing bad stories about Symbian, I decided to switch to Samsung Galaxy S II. Actually, I was really foolish because I neglected the fact that the mobile is evaluated by its hardware beside its OS and platform. I'm sorry Nokia, I realized that you are the best phone manufacturer and I'm coming back for you with full regret.
My next phone is the Great 808 Pureview.
I love Nokia and I'll buy its products whatever people say.
Windows Phone 7.5, 2012's Crippled Mobile OS.
They should have left Symbian Belle to flourish.
Now look what Nokia done. Most of us will migrate to Tizen / Android.
Are they suggesting don't buy 808 now, there will be other better options?
''unfortunately he did not say anything about a lumia pureview phone.'' does this mean that the 808 is not the last symbian phone to be realesed.
Tizen Takeover, 24 May 2012If Nokia puts MeeGo on the Pureview, it's Game Over for the competition. Plain and Simple.I just had the craziest idea. buy an 808 and port the camera over to n9. i dont mind drilling some holes onto my n9. Software wise maybe can get help from the community. pls tell me i'm not dreaming ^^
Kundrit, 24 May 2012No matter how hard it try to come back, this phone company is belong to the past.thank you for your well informative comment, Nokia is really from the past, they are only 3rd in smartphones sales and 2nd in total mobile phone sales and weather you like it or not, neither samsung nor apple will make such groundbreaking technology in 15 years, they are only about MOAR COARS
No matter how hard it try to come back, this phone company is belong to the past.
Nokia 701 follow up with Nokia 707 Pure view. a masterphone for many years to come.
Love this kisses from sweden
MrVidek, 24 May 2012If Symbian is not fully supported this means the phone will stop working? Go play with Android kid!JEALOUSY is your feeling kid,,,Goto to your Dead CRAPDROID phone page...LOL
lucz, 24 May 2012why is it that nokia didnt want to try produce an android running nokia phones?? may i know t... moreBecause Android sucks my friend.. Sorry to say but it's not suited for end users, and it's slowish you can tell the framerate is probably half of WP7 phones.
Listen my sister just bought a lumia 710 with WP7 for 320 USD, get an android phone of the same price and compare the smoothness, the overall user experience and youll see what I mean.
