lazarenko, 30 Apr 2020Please tell me you really see difference between 1080x2460 screen and even higher resolution o... moreLG was at the same level with Samsung back in the days. The same goes for HTC.
Remember the LG G2 & Lg G Flex era? People were fighting in stores for this models. I remember I wanted to buy a LG G2 and it wasn't on stock in the magazine, so I bought a Samsung S3 instead, which was on stock. So demand was greater for LG phones back then.
The problem was, that Samsung evolved, understood the needs of the people and in which direction the market shifted. LG and HTC just thought it is enough to release 1 or 2 generation of good phones, then everything will be ok for 10 years. Sadly for them, it wasn't enough and their poor management and marketing decision cost them everything.
Now, imo, I think it is already too late. If they couldn't do it 3-4 years ago when the competition wasn't so fierce, now they don't have a chance to come back.
R.I.P. LG mobile division.
Real.Talk, 30 Apr 2020A 1080P screen on a flagship such as the V60 you mentioned is not the right strategy for 2020.... moreIt's 1080p+ not 1080p.
I agree with you that 1080p+ screen is downgrade compared to QHD, But Apart from the slightly lower resolution, it's a top notch panel. Only thing it lacks is higher refresh rate.
I am talking about general sales strategy of selling phones @lower price which is in the right direction. LG V60 costing around 700 Euros while most other flagships in 2020 costing around 1200 Euros. Sure they offer more, but V60 is a very compelling well rounded option at that price.
Even Chinese manufacturers charging 600-800 Euros this year for their non-pro version which makes V60 a great recommendation.
No no... that is fake according to fans.... But there is always the solution of increase prices. Never Settle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Real.Talk, 30 Apr 2020A 1080P screen on a flagship such as the V60 you mentioned is not the right strategy for 2020.... morePlease tell me you really see difference between 1080x2460 screen and even higher resolution one. This is nonsense. That screen has 400ppi (V60) and you need magnifying glass to spot individual pixels. I know that screen uses pentile arrangement but still 400ppi is too dense to notice. Main problem for LG-s sales is that it was never a well established brand in many markets while SAMSUNG is. Another problem is arrival of good cheap Chinese brand phones. End of answer.
Personally I will not buy any of current smartphones because I got used to standard looking compact phones (that means 16:9 screen, below 5 inches, 3,5 mm headphone jack, normal fingerprint sensor). If LG releases something like that I would buy it immediately. I know Apple has just released iPhone SE but I don't want iOS which is big pile of trash for any advanced usage of the phone. I may be alone at this one. Perhaps majority people don't really want compact phones.
Sure, keep away Europe from V series and you will loose even more! I mean seriously, where are V50 and V60, hello LG? With love from EU.
Real.Talk, 30 Apr 2020A 1080P screen on a flagship such as the V60 you mentioned is not the right strategy for 2020.... morelmao. Mass market does not care about specs. All insults to removable battery fans also apply to benchmarking fans. Only a few buy their flagships in their home country so they backed down from flagship battle with Velvet.
All those high specs useless when you have devices crippled by glues and powerbanks.
SLSAHXOHVOMVN, 30 Apr 2020Haha, same losses will be for Sony and HTC. Atleast LG is employing the right strategy with ... moreA 1080P screen on a flagship such as the V60 you mentioned is not the right strategy for 2020.. Going back in time is never the right choice unless you're trying to resolve problems you made back in the day which in this case is actually bringing them back into a new year for round 2 of issue repetition.
