All foldable phones will fail. Only roll up and slide out screen make sense for the expandable form factor.
I am curious about the durability of the phone. I haven't seen a long term review of the original mate X so I hope to see this one have a long term review in the future.
I believe foldable smartphones have a long distance ahead to reach to their best. However, it is nice to hear and read about them.
Anonymous, 04 May 2020Durability is worse than the fold or the flip. Based on what?
Anonymous, 04 May 2020Durability is worse than the fold or the flip. Probably not the hinge. iFixIt revealed that Mate Xs has lots of metal shields and clips inside that prevents small particles from entering display assembly, which are missing from Galaxy Z Flip or Fold (though the Z Flip has a long brush to block out dusts along the hinge instead). Display durability wise I agree with you.
Looking forward to your review. This is a futuristic phone and form factor and deserves more attention.
Anonymous, 04 May 2020You're recommending the P40 Pro? I thought you were against non-GMS "junk?"At least it's still better because it doesn't break easily. But still a lacking phone to be honest.
When the display is made of Ultra Thin Glass and user replaceable screen protectors are compatible, then this form factor would go mainstream.
not something you’d gift your mother for her birthday? Really? The writer of this article was high when writing this.
Finally we will see that even foldables can shoot quality photos(with right design), though this device is not exactly new. Want to see also selfies from main camera and super wide.
Who's gonna buy that bendable junk with no GMS for a price costing more than the Galaxy Fold? I mean, just buy a P40 Pro+ to be safe.
