Anonymous, 25 May 2012Don't worry.. XDA's there.thats the beauty of android ;)
what about Xperia X10i.X10 also deserve ICS upadate.
What U say...????
This is just pure speculation. I'd rather wait for Sony's official announcement/word regarding this matter.
I personally wouldn't want the Xperia Play to be upgraded to ICS. I am a Xperia Ray user, and ever since the firmware update to ICS, I have been facing random reboots and freezing of apps. Gingerbread was so much more stable. The devs were right to let users know that ICS would bring about instability, which gives users a more informed choice. If I have the time I would bring my Ray to the service centre to have the firmware downgraded to GB.
Ahh....Sony, you haven't changed at all, have you? Still not keeping your promises and feeding your clients with BS...I still remember the X10 fiasco (I had one) and I am glad I decided to leave you for Samsung. Am I to expect other clients abandoning your untrustworthy ship as well? Certainly yes....Kudos to your PR department by the way (sarcasm).
as always from sony lots of practices and experiments that fails, not just from smartphones but camera& laptops as well
andy88, 25 May 2012If want enjoy latest OS just buy a high-end phone.Definitely will get, more of you pay you will... moreHey future S3 owner. Are you looking forward to a crappy, buggy, slow and feature-cut Jelly bean? You know, like SII owners got of ICS?
Well, hope your wait won't bee too long for the S3. Considering it's production and quality problems.
Anyways, sucks when a promise is made and then broken.
Sony are pony at keeping there promises this dont surprise me one bit! Whats the betteing the drop the Arc too! They said they were going to.bring the PS store to the Arc s (UK) and im still waiting! And as for the live walkman they should trash that too!
Live with Walkman deserves ICS over Play.........holy crap!! this is BS..sony you are going the LG way I believe!!
It's possible Sony decided not to update the Xperia Play so they could release a successor to the Play, with ICS.
It would give a new device a lot more selling power.
I wouldn't say this is typical of Sony - I'd say it's the nature of Android in general.
Sony always does the same stupid trick breaking the customer's trust.
Sonythetop, 25 May 2012Gsmarena! Maybe You are wrong, Because My friend is holding Xperia Play and It's running ICS. ... morei think it's just a beta or custom room. although it has ICS, it would be running slowly as hell.
This is bad reporting GSMArena. Sony have not made any such announcement.
I reckon it will receive the update (a beta is already available for PLAY), but I bet Sony simply don't want to publicise it due to the problems of game incompatibility with ICS. This is really more a fault of Google and the game developers, and many many games are having problems with ICS in general. I am generally disappointed with the tech media, such as yourselves, in your failure to hold Google to account when creating crappy software releases such as ICS. Stop blaming Sony and the excellent bargain that is the Xperia PLAY and get to the source of the problem!
If there is no official Sony release at the same-time then no doubt you will be able to head over to XDA and get a port of it (as I believe is already the case).
