The real problem is not the fact that they collect data. Even from the early days of the internet's commercial availability, cookies, beacons and other types of tools have been used to keep track of users' behaviour and activity online.

The REAL problem is: What do they actually DO with the data that they collect? They can claim anything that they want, as you can't actually check and there is no proof one way or the other…

Lol so many delusion people in the comments think they are safe because:

They use ad blockers
A different brand smartphone
Don't use Chinese products lol
Using different browsers

These same people think fingerprint scanners are "secure" and think IOS is more secure...

Don't make me laugh no matter where you run you will be tracked and datamined one way or another

Unless your on Blockchain and even that isnty perfect

No one is giving Xiaomi permission to listen alone with its users playing music, viewing their children's photos, a video of a user scratching their ass, etc.

Xiaomi has gone way to far here and I'd suspect an antitrust investigation is coming fast!

In fact, if you read Android User Statement Agreement cames something like that. Thats because Google knows all your routine like time travel to work, time to home, favorite restaurants, etc, etc.

Remember Google Knows You Better Than You Know Yourself

stop comparing and defending to any of them that won't make anything better until you create something new to go over them, do something productive.

NotAnOpinion, 01 May 2020Apple is not listening on me when I'm playing my music. Apple is not peeking over my shoulders... moreIf you use Siri, you are being listened to and it's sending all that data as it has system wide access.

As long as any system services are connected to the Internet (which they are by default, unless you are using a proper firewall which is absent on iOS) , it is collecting general data and sharing it under the "user experience improvement" program.

All that data is used for data mining and other purposes which is an obvious violation of individual privacy rights but don't forget you accepted the terms and conditions before using any smartphone, so you are f*cked.

LOL what about play services, the biggest Spyware on the market?
I bet you have given all permissions to it and it is also allowed to connect to Internet.
Translation, your data is being sent for data mining.
If you use Google assistant, be assured that you are being listened to even before the "okay Google" command.
