GeeX, 01 May 2020All Chinese makers are spying on users. When come to privacy apple is much better..Did you forget Apple Safari browser sending data to tencent servers? Or for that matter Apple giving iCloud keys to China.
Collecting browsing habits (even when incognito) for supposed user browsing improvement on bundled apps may be overlooked even though that claim may be challenged.
But collecting non-browser elements such as what files I open, what song I play etc is an invasion of privacy. That is irresponsible. That is spying.

And then Xiaomi sells said data to the highest bidder. Why do you suppose can they get away with selling devices with a FIVE percent profit margin and SD865 phones for not much more than 700USD?

At least they collect browsing history and store it in your microsoft acoount so you can easily see what they collect, and you can delete them unlike xiaomi.
