The espionage in numerous colleges across US from chinese professors is more than enough. This story isn't different from any phone company though. They all profit from collecting user data and selling it to adverts.
Kek, 01 May 2020Lol, I came here only to watch Xiaomi fanboys defending this behavior after pointing fingers t... moreYou're practically admitting that you just want to hate on China since you're completely ignoring that this kind of data collection is nothing new to American companies. Oh, Apple/Google/Facebook/Microsoft have been doing this for years? Pshh, whatever. Oh, Huawei and Xiaomi are doing it? Get the torches and pitchforks thIs iS aN iNvAsIoN oF oUR pRiVaCy!1!!

Ofcourse they do.Everybody does from the phonemakers. That is not new. They make a lot of money from the data they sell.As we know information is the most expensive think in this world :)Actually i dont care about the browsing data but if they can do that what is stopping them to access the rest of the data in the phones like documents pictures and so on ...
r, 01 May 2020Im not even surprised. This is probably why their smartphone is cheaper than others. Plus the ads revenue, now someone knows, every time I have tried to warn not to trust any of these "cheap" phone manufacturers, my comments have been heavily unwelcome to say the least.
This is called big data analytics every tech company does it for their marketing research on behalf of other companies
They are all the same.
Only difference is that the Usa is better in covering tracks.
Bizarre. Every tech company collects user data. And what's the big fuss over incognito mode? All incognito modes clearly state that your activity is visible to the sites you visit, your internet provider, your employer or school.
The timing of this is interesting. Just when the Trump administration is searching for more ammunition against the CCP. Collecting data is a sad reality in our lives. The only way to save yourself from that is using landline phones, stop using the internet, cards, online transactions or even having a bank account.
Oh and GSMa, it is browsing data. Not browisng data. This report seems to have been filed in tearing hurry.
I use Chrome. So, Google has my data..
If you know the news comes from America, then you can decide yourself!!! Truth/Bulshit/Nothing new/it happens with everyone....
All browsers collect data. It's an app thing, not a phone make thing.
Anders, 01 May 2020I've just read the actual article. GSMarena are lying... They can't track you in the DuckDu... morehow about google chrome?
Im not even surprised. This is probably why their smartphone is cheaper than others.
Lol, I came here only to watch Xiaomi fanboys defending this behavior after pointing fingers to Apple for security issues in iOS.
Anonymous, 01 May 2020All the browsers track you because they sell the data to make money. Remember, if it's free to... moreYou paid Xiaomi for a phone and software already. Their own browser shouldn't have to collect anything to sell for ad revenue.
