As long as OnePlus Z is priced under 400$ with flat screen & compact body , then it should be fine.

Bodygard379, 02 May 2020Let it be slower than with a Mediatek chip. Give me the Snap 765 anyday. With oxygen OS or wit... moreOf course that they'll give you the SD765... after you pay around 630 euros that they'll ask for this mid-range phone. Including that hole in the middle of the display, but without one for the audio jack and also no expandable memory.

What is sure is that it'll come with a cheap macro camera or a depth sensor.

Look at the 620 - 640 euros OnePlus mid-ranger with a hole in the middle of the display. That is very visible, but the one for the audio jack seems to be invisible .. and the slot for the explainable memory inexistent. Things from OnePlus. Never Settle!!!

This is a big loss for the name of competition

Qualcomm has successfully overcharged for the 865 (doesnt even support AV1 codec)and they got away with it

MEDIATEK is key to make QUALCOMM better because of competition

Tech savvy enthusiast make for 0.5% of the smartphone market and all they keep screaming about is custom ROMs... And gcam

These people have not even considered that fierce competition can potentially get rid of the need for custom ROMs and gcam ports

We want what AMD is doing in the smartphone SOC space this monopoly needs to go down man

Now this phone has a generic 765 that will be in a Million smartphones smh big disappointment

This phone just got a lot more interesting now. Since the 765 will have much better custom rom support. I just hope the phone isn't too big.

Let it be slower than with a Mediatek chip. Give me the Snap 765 anyday. With oxygen OS or with any custom rom and kernel it'll fly. Now with mediatek chip, no custom roms or kernels for us...

Good. MTK belongs on low-end phones. OnePlus is establishing itself as a quality brand, and hence should choose quality components only.

OnePlus Z could be good if it has decent specs along with a justifiable price tag.

Then it'll be more expensive with the SD765 and also slower than with the Dimensity 1000/1000L. Never Settle!!! In prices...
