They should also state the reason for displaying semi nude/explicit content.

Alex 94, 04 May 2020Everyone doing the same, Apple, Samsung, Huawei.... Why not then and Xiaomi?! At least they do... moreYou didn't justify the wrong with wrong, did you? Apple, Google etc. fall under the jurisdiction of a transparent democracy, the USA, whereas Xiaomi, Huawei etc. fall under the jurisdiction of a terrible dictatorship, China.

And what about semi nude ads which crops in between browsing or switching between ads in Redmi phones. These people must be one of the worst case perverts out there. Profiting by pushing semi porn.

Even with all the VPN claiming to provide privacy, as long as you send data through internet, there is no such things as complete privacy.

too late and it's definitely not genuine. xiaomi is just on damage control, nothing more. xiaomi has given the world it's true feelings.

"we are a internet company, first. we are in business for businesses, not for consumers!"

well they won't just straight out tell yes we did it so what? We don't have proof but my assumption is that they do collect as much data as possible, much more than legally possible in the costumers location. I mean after people complained about the Exynos 990 issues samsung Germany came out and said basically nope the exy990 is as good as the SD865 Period. Even tho tests show something completely different but yeah always take a company's word for it cause companies never lie lol. They all lie, they lie in the marketing, with their photos taken with a DSLRR, with their battery life claims, with their display brightness, with their camera's actual zoom factor, how a 3.5mm jack takes too much space and/or is obsolete how accurate their face scanner is and so on haha

Um, yeah, duh. Of course they are collecting your information and sending it to the Chinese gov, just like Huawei and ZTE.
Also like Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft - they collect and send the info with the US gov, not to mention share it with other companies.

Everyone collects info. Yes, even the innocent Samsung.

Data collection was excessive.
I don't see what they were thinking.

They can respond all they want; they have been caught red-handed and no amount of "did not!" will change anything. It's everyone's prerogative to decide to not care, but for those who do care you can only screw up this kind of thing exactly once - and Xiaomi did.

The article is very poor. There was several cases with proofs of sending your data even without consent in incognito mode, that is the most important. And also the code asigned to you a random UUID that only changed every 24h, during that time you can be tracked as that UUID is asignet to you all that time.

Obviously Xiaomi did changes ASAP to try to silent all this scandal. WHY Xiaomi is doing this software changes if all was ok?

This is not only a Xiaomi thing... OnePlus was also caught, Apple too... etc. None of them and others are innocent.
