vrvly, 07 May 2020They may surely do, but it wont stop people from buying cheap but capable hw, the same as ads ... moreThat's the problem, many peoples won't care about their privacy until they have none, the, they'll complain that no one did anything to prevent that...
There is a massive difference between data collected while browsing and data collected from the machine itself.
Also, a lot of peoples wrongly think that data collected are only for ads, but this may be the last important thing they are collected for nowaday, there are far more wrong, serious and worrying reasons data are collected, more data than most peoples imagine...

I at least hope there will be non-spying 3rd parties. Good point though.

cloud is all fine. first get them to test their blasted windows updates before forcing them down consumers' throats. hearing too many issues, of late. really concerned about updating.

or maybe its high time windows got replaced with something else in mainstream use

As long as regular Windows 10 is alive I don't care about what Microsoft will do.

          I beg to differ...
Having basically who knows what going through their server and being potentially (surely) gathered is the next step that we clearly don't need in privacy intrusion...
Mainly considering that it will constantly film your face with eye control as an excuse...
No thanks, seriously, keep your private life for yourself, if you want to broadcast it, make a livestream out of it, but don't allow company to access it as and when they want...

I think Windows 10X will be the turning point of windows OS family.

I like containerized Apps Concept, is more secured and reliable, which makes the app perform higher than mac OS app.

Wait and see if it make sense to IT world.

Absolutely agree with your very well put forward derision of Adoogle Chrime OS, because that's what it is, not fit for purpose.

Quite, "So it means that Windows 10X would be a cloud-focused operating system, then? I'm not sure if I want that."

No Windows 10 X will most certainly not be a cloud OS or a "cloud-focussed OS". Rather, it will leverage the advantages of access to the cloud to improve the capability of Windows 10 X.

Consider the cloud-based functionality of the upcoming Windows 10 X to be similar in functionality to the most recent perpetual version of Office (Office 2019), where for example, Excel, is a fully locally installed OS and does not need access to the internet to function correctly, though with internet connectivity, Excel becomes smarter with access to online datasets allowing tabulation and plotting of charts to be simpler, more accurate, updated in live time, with collaborative updates visualised in real time.

Cloud power is awesome as any amount of power per demand on light thin tablet.
Not sure if I can expect something now even. long since they came with anything new.
