A good decision taken by apple. If they enter the Indian Market, their sales will be high because here in India the apple iphone prices are too high so people scare to buy it from Indian market. They rather order the iphones from foreign countries by their relatives who live outside of India.

India is not China by any means in terms of geography, skills, size, government etc...it is not like one person or set of few people can clear things for you to start multiple-billion dollar enterprise. It takes lots of time(ask Apple, it is still taking time for them to open their Apple Stores after so many iterations of negotiations) and that’s how vibrant democracies work, but once you are in then just ask Samsung, LG, Hyundai, Ford, Daimler etc....it will be a never ending fun drive!

What is that supposed to mean? India does not manufacture SoC, Display, Flash memory, Camera modules, etc. So the majority of the value addition is already happening outside of India, my guess is only the assembly is taking place within India. Since 2013, Modi is planning for smartphone manufacturing, and the best he can only do is assembly? What a pity.

Awesome news. The less dependent US companies are on China, the better. I hope this trend will continue with other Western companies as well.

Why not try in Bangladesh! More cheaper and good area for developing production.

As an American, I am fine with iPhones being made in India. After all, both America and India are free democratic countries. Welcome this move by Apple.
