JoelRaj-1002, 15 May 2020Everyone might use this technology in their phones and Xperia will use it after 6 years!Naah.. it's actually the opposite. Sony always introduces new tech and other brands copy it. Sony's always been a showpiece phone but i think 1 ii can be a game changer for sony

Sonny needs bigger Photo Sensor like one on huawei, with more resolution. And pixel binning. Then you introduce this AI, Zeiss Optics and Alfa technology's.

That is the winner phone of the year !!! ;)

I miss my Xperia Z2 the front speakers audio quality so sweet and nice, unlike my China phone although it is cheap but quality is way too cheap that broke sounds mess up my listening experience.

Well interesting.
Xiaomi or Realme or Nubia red magic with this technology will cost maybe 300 to 400 bucks flagship device.
Sony low end midranger will be sold for same price with this technology barely using it due to a low end specs.

with lower sensor quality, competitors always produce better pictures than xperias.

JoelRaj-1002, 15 May 2020Everyone might use this technology in their phones and Xperia will use it after 6 years!Incorrect. The Sony will exclusively for Xperia even they sold this sensor for a higher price to their competitors, they will remain the best "codes" for Xperia. Only Sony can unleash the full potential. It is not the ads or trolling or shady marketing can done.

I didn't even mention their name nor tried to call out them out of nowhere, but I guess Samsung fans' brains are so deluded that they assume that everything we say is always about your impotent brand, eh?
Next time you try to troll here, make sure your phone wouldn't overheat and would be able to focus quickly in low light, otherwise your $1000 phone is useless.

Bad design, 14 May 2020The AI co-processor within SoC is way more powerful and reliable, and can be used simultaneou... moreThe truth be told... You wouldn't even need a System on Chip (SoC) to run this on, if you understand what I mean! Well, the mobiles and other electronics with a SoC aren't the only products that would be helped vastly with this Technology! Sony has a very good name in innovation and in future you will surely see this technology in peek, doesn't matter if Sony will be on top or where. Other companies would surely implement their own ideas in this technology and would get better too. This is futuristic and this is how it starts! No need to process an image eliminates the need for other chips and/or memory to work. Power consumption will be less, things will be rapid fast! Let's get onto the mobile itself. Do you have any ideas how many codes the SoC would need to run to process and then the AI to recognise the scene? The way is like- Camera Sensors to Ram to SoC to AI to Rom. This one ends just within camera itself. Just one tiny example! this one will be a great use in medical, automobiles and other industries!

Telephone, 15 May 2020This could also assist blind people. Would it be called a seeing aid? If I were to design on... moreExactly! This is just the way I was thinking lately and I ended up with this article! Just think, how grateful it would be to mount a camera and this sensor in a walking stick of a blind person. A little bit of haptic vibration or even voice to help the blind person. Yup, the AI can understand where the sidewalks are, and can alert if he/she is about to go the other way. Same goes about the pedestrian crossing and the traffic lights etc., It can just monitor everything and can be an eye for a blind person.
