Not interested unless it's a small compact phone. And probably still won't be interested even if it is as there is *still* no expandable storage FFS.

It's good that they lowered the price, but the battery is too small.

Julian M, 15 May 2020If this is what it takes for Google to come back down to Earth with the pricing of its phones,... moreApple are doing a great thing. Not because I think the SE is actually a great phone. More because it will nudge vendors to produce lower priced competition. It'll push for more compact form factors.

If this is what it takes for Google to come back down to Earth with the pricing of its phones, so be it.

The *a models shouldn't be 400+, neither should the flagship be as expensive as the latest top iPhones - there's plenty of fans and demand for a sensible device with good specs, but especially with a realistic price. Driving prices through the roof just because Apple does it isn't a good enough reason.

While SE 2020 is definitely not for everyone it doesn't look like a cheap kid's toy bundled in a cereal box.

potato4k, 15 May 2020LOL whut? People are really tricked by Apple that you guys think this Pixel 4a is a good deal.... morePeople buy a Pixel phone, mainly for the still photos. They'll likely out perform anything else within £400. I agree the processor is naff, but at this price I'd expect it.

Anonymous, 15 May 2020Very Nice If It Is True And If They Are Able To Launch The 64 Gb Variant In India At Less Tha... moreI don’t think it will cost less than $400 (approx. INR 29999) for base variant in India. In India, the import duty on CBUs is high. That’s why the price of SE is also around $550 (INR 42500).
Google might need to absorb some cost to bring the price down. At INR 29999 it will be in direct competition with Samsung A71. A71 has bloatware but way more features and much better hardware spec. All pixel 4a would be offering is a cleaner OS and subjectively better primary camera.

android phones hardly ever turn iphone users to android users, people who buy Iphones almost never switch and vice versa, this article is kinda irrelevant, the pixel's opponents are rather all android mid-rangers

Pixel 3a was being sold like flagship price here in India. I don't know what's wrong with Google. They want some slice of premium customers, but what they offer is seriously undervalued wrt price. No doubt two lead engineers left behind. It's so hard to work with such limitations, just to cater and squeeze some profit.

Greediness will never benefit a passionate mind.

I'm using Honor 8 pro and Asus Zen Max Pro M1 as my daily driver. I prefer Asus over Honor because of pure android flavor and its fast enough than many upper mid range devices fro day2day activities. I don't think OS update is a major concern nowadays since Android 8, OS is mature enough and we are nor seeing any innovative features which will uplift our life pattern. Also we are getting all the features nowadays through 3rd party developers well before official android release. Pixel 4a is a solid deal for 299 bucks.
