Sony name in past means value and quality now every cheap brand such as Xiaomi does competitive quality products.
Most people will swap their phone for new one every 2-3 years and for that case 200-300 eur xiaomi high end midranger or 400-500 eur flagship is great enough compared to 400-600 sony midranger or 800-1000 or more eur for a flagship which will last same time and do same tricks.
Even if Sony flagship would last 10 years look at those phones from 10 years ago. Noone of them would impress anyone right here right now.
All of them are old or very old and it would be shame to carry any of them on streets.

Mobile Sony Camera always show outstanding features and Sony sells mobile camera chips to other companies, but Sony mobile camera rarely get the top 5 on dxomark. Tell me why ?

No matter how much Sony will try. Most other companies will be always better the same way like mark III by cannon will outbeat any Sony camera made up to this date.
Anonymous, 18 May 2020You can watch in 10bit on the phone. No compression will be applied. If you have a phone that has 10-bit capable display, yes, as long as the video encoded in HDR10. But then Sony and Samsung use proprietary HDR format that only support their phone displays when recording 10bit video (And before giving me that Sony's HLG can deal with a regular 8bit display argument - it doesn't work as well as they intended and a footage looks really flat on incompatible displays).

Anonymous, 17 May 2020Imx600y and 608 do not have DRAM. Sony does not sell this tech to anyone. The previous dram ex... moreI recently saw somewhere that nowadays the MIPI speed on those mobile phone sensors is so fast that you don't even need DRAM for super slow motion. I'm assuming that IMX608's rapid readout speed is also benefitting from 4x4 (16 in 1) analogue binning which reduces its effective resolution down to 2.5MP - Essentially it's treated as a FHD sensor when recording a slow motion video. I tested it out the camera of Mate 30 Pro myself in the shop with fast moving objects, and in 1920fps mode I couldn't see any jitter or motion artifacts that should appear on interpolated footage.
I don't know why but you always downplay anything that is not made by Sony. You've been hating Samsung, Google for "fake colours and HDR!" and Apple for "purplish sky and ONLY 8bit video", and now you're dissing Huawei that they don't have a real super slow mo when it clearly has. Not cool man.
Anonymous, 17 May 2020Of course it records 10 bit video. 10bit is better than 8bits. Not if it disables EIS. Also, compatibility is the biggest reason why manufacturers still insist on 10bit recording - most of consumer displays are not 10bit compatible hence could show some banding artifacts/colour oddity when compressing it back to 8bit during decoding process.
Someonemposted on reddit that talked to someone else from Sony store amd heard that 10 ii is last 4G device xperia.
All upcoming to be 5G.

Xperia XZP and XZ3 had bad focus because it was poorly done by Sony Mobile stuff, not because Hybrid is worse than DP.
Z5 AF is better than S7.
Hybrid x dual pixel.
If DP was the best , Sony would be using on all their cameras (photo and video cameras).
Secret of 1 ii is not dual pixel, it is the new bionz x mobile is copy from a9.
Even without dual pixel , results would be same.
Motorola G5+ is dual pixel. Is it as fast as S20+ or 11 pro? No. Because software is not on pair. Software has big impact on AF performance.
Can S20 do same 1 ii does? No, despite having same dual pixel . Cant even do burst with AF.

>> That is interpolated, heck even the ... moreIAre you sure it is little crop? All samples of gsmarena (s20, 20+, 20 ultra) are 1080p. What a coincidence. No 4K super steady. Exactly as I stated. It does 2x crop to match wide angle camera and video becomes FHD.
Now compare SteadyShot of any Xperia at 4K and 1080@30.
1080@30 is always better.
4K/1080@60 have Steady Shot, 1080@30 has Active Intelligent Steady Shot.
Recording 1080p uses less of the sensor, remaining pixels can be used for EIS. Also it demands less processing power than 4K, allowing the software to apply better EIS.
1080@30 has better EIS than 1080@60.
1080@60 has better EIS than 4K.
No matter which phone you test.

Or try it on the store yourself. About using DSLR, do u believe me if I said Sony does it as well? Lucky it didnt get caught. Actually most company use it as marketing purposes. And Sony was not that pure.
My point is Sony Xperia itself ditching Hybrid AF & go to Dual Pixel route. But u keep twisting stories around.
I have Z5, its SteadyShot are just decent, not best. I've bought cheaper device after using it and surprisingly it did better than all my Xperia's I had.
