Do not bother waiting for dxomark review. Sony does not send the device anymore.
That is why the score is low and review is done moths after phone is for sale. Same applies to LG and Motorola.
When the review of 1 was out, someone from Sony commented on it and said " we did not tune the device for dxomark". Now use your imagination to find out what this means.
5 was video tested using 1080@30, despite having 4K@30 HDR. They said phone does not have stabilization for 4K mode, which is not true.
Do not expect more than 106, despite the fact it can beat iphone 11 pro as some samples show.
DXO mark scores are based on auto mode....
Photographers use manual mode, so you cant compare these two.
Image quality wise Sony is very good and very detailed. Now after the Xperia 1 even the HDR is good as the newer iPhones but its only available on manual mode.
Yes it has some issues with auto mode and kinda bit inconsistent but once you switch to manual mode. Its a different story.
Only complain is that Video is not comparable to the latest iPhones.
BeeAnt, 16 May 2020Now let's see how dxomark scores it despite all of these goodies. Why, is dxomark relevant and trustworthy for you? I wouldn't trust someone who takes a shot of a well illuminated kitchen with one phone, and then put boxes in the window to block the light for the shot with the other phone, and then say "See? The first phone have a better camera."
Sony Ericsson User, 16 May 2020Sony should limit profit margins per unit to max 10% until market share goes up. Beat the Chin... morePointless to sell more if they do not even recover money spent with R&D.
Even of they charge $800, sales would be the same.
After months, price drops and still sales are same. So price is just an excuse from haters.

Now let's see how dxomark scores it despite all of these goodies.
Should come with raw+jpeg shooting and eye af in tele camera if so serious.
Also ND filter, whats the point of changing shutter speed in daylight then.
honestly i prefer phone like this, not everyone use but have quality. so exclusive
sony more like BMW or Marcedes compare to Japanese car which in term of sales will lose. but in term of quality. you can say better (not by how many feature have more like premium feel and quality).
easy to say premium android to this phone compare the other. premium also can mean have exclusivity.
this phone doesn't have many feature like other phone have but this phone have essential feature that's will needed when the moments are come.
if someone say its so pricey bla bla. anything with premium campaign will have high price and the target is premium environment or exclusivity.
JuanBagnell has on the most interesting and imho quite objective reviews when it come to smartphones. Sony probably won’t send him review unit because he has a small channel and they be afraid what he has to say about they PR BS :D
Awesome, so WHEN CAN WE BUY IT? Pretty sure April is over already.
No wonder everyone only knows about Samsung and Chinese phones. Sony and LG don't actually release their phones until everyone has forgotten about them already.
Release this thing already and rid us of this "no headphone jack" curse.
Zaelbusta , 16 May 2020My dream smartphone. hahahahahaha
Surely hi quality, we have seen the 1 vs 1II comparison. Quality is also not bad on the others, but they got also IR mode like on oneplus8pro or 64mp on vivo nex3, both great for photographers.
Phone looks great, very promising but the price is absolutely unreal in given circumstances. I'd rather buy Huawei Mate 30 Pro which is a way cheaper here, has competitive camera system or even better in some situations and certainly has more features. Google services sideloading isn't a problem if the phone isn't so expensive anymore.
They didn't pay him
Did Nick Didlick lick the Did? - Say it five times fast XD
PS: I also think Sony should simply release the phone as soon as they can, then we rely on trusted reviewers to see how it holds up. No paid promotions, or DxOMark. JuanBagnell is one to watch on YouTube.
