Other manufacturers sh... moreThey are showing it because it's MWC and they get all the attention for free. It's such a logical move then to silently release the phone like they did with XZ2 Premium.
First of all their press release said availability late spring so there are no surprises. Japan supposedly was about to get it first in late April but now that shifted toward global release which will be in few weeks.
Second, you really don't have to be an expert to know that launching a device in March will mean you go head to head with Galaxy S20. No manufacturers ever release their most important phones in March because of new Galaxy S, Huawei is the only one cocky enough to launch their P series month later.

Low-light performance is not that important.
Shutter speed, auto-focus, level of detail, dynamic range are so much more important than being able to shoot a good picture in very low light.
Hoping, the mark II will improve upon Sony's not so great cameras in the Xperia 1.

Now I skip the model and bought else
I cannot wait 3 months plus 2 weeks for delivery total almost 4 months no matter how good it is I will buy it and in another 3 months there will be better device out there!!!!!!
You lost your minds. If you can't get it into orders and production, DON'T SHOW IT 2-3 months before sales!!!!

How have they not released it yet!?!??! It was announced in february! And they wonder why they sell so few units lately lol, people have forgotten about it even before launch, 0 marketing, 0 release dates, 0 build-up. they just announce and then sit on it for 7 months and then quietly release

I only hope that the Xperia 1 ii will create a much better photo quality than last year's Xperia 1. I don't really care much about other Android flagships, but the Xperia 1 ii should be a worthy contender to the OnePlus 8 Pro. In fact, those two are the only 2020 Android flagships that I anticipate the most.

Remember the Huawei P40 Pro+? That phone was launched in March, but we won't be seeing that on sale until next month.

Pixel buds 2 were announced October and only came out now.
Even if it came out now, would you enjoy it if they released it with bugs? No, you'd obviously criticize them saying they're releasing an unfinished product - which would be hypocritical.

will be another software processing failed, just like in 2013,2014,2015...until forever, in reality will be the same problem, here you see only marketing, just a little sun, a little happines, dogs, some colors.
Just look at an LG V30, Lumia 1020, Oppo, they have really good camera.
This is just the same fake "awsome professional camera", in fact they make markenting to BUY DSLR because they lose market in face of phones, this is all about,

Sony should limit profit margins per unit to max 10% until market share goes up. Beat the Chinese at their own game. Yet they manage their phone business like they did the Vaio PC business: same quality as competitors (or worse) but over charge 100-200€ because they think their brand is as strong as it was in the mid 2000s

They announced it in end of FEB and after almost 4 months the phone is nowhere to be seen, I really don't see how they can compete with other OEMs at this point and moreover, this pandemic made all to think for a second if they should spend 1200 USD on a device rather than pay rent or food.

Xperia phones are great and best of the best,if you go on websites then Samsung is great but in practical no match with xpera,i personally compare xpeeia 1 with note10 plus,s20 plus and s20 ultra,the display on xperia is so much superior vs saamsung and in low light photographer comparison xpeeia photo has more detail and actual scene color then all flagship samsung phones including ultra,only in 10times zoom Samsung is better all other comparison samsung is look like fake as compared to xpeeia,I also compare with remaining brands but xperia is superior in every way..so if you have mind and Researcher and want to take true entertainment,go blindly to xperia..sony is unmatchable..

Marketing push and camera fixes in the last days before release ... well they better deliver this time.
Question remains ... will I go for bigger one with pointless 4K or I will wait for the small one.
Can't wait for reviews of this potentionaly good smartphone.

Would be nice if they released the phone already instead of constantly teasing and saying how amazing it is. I'm close to giving up waiting and just getting Samsung.

Marketing is pointless if you’re not selling the phone. How many phones did Sony sell last time? Yeah, maybe save up the marketing budget and use it to actually ship the phone in a timely manner (not months after announcement).
