In Malaysia, HTC launch One S with S3 processor but the price is very expensive, not much different with SGS3 & One X. Why pay more with old S3. I love this phone, plan to buy but HTC use S3. I hate this phone & HTC. How to differentiate between S3 & S4? Like sgs2, we can differentiate by check the model no. I9000 or I9000G. How to know one S model with S3?

sebu htc desire s, 09 Jun 2012In Romania also S3 and Amoled display instead of Super Amoled https://www.orange.ro/magazin-on... moreThe gs3 is super Amoled no matter witch version you get. If what you ate looking at just says Amoled then its because sometimes people just say Amoled instead of the whole name to keep it simple. Or someone lied.

GBman, 04 Jun 2012Heard the speeds based on Antutu and nano benchmarking software are about the same for both S3... moreThe fuss is about the fact that a 1.7 Snapdragon S3 will **** kill that battery wich is also smaller than the one found in SGS3 or One X. I think you will get at least 5 hours of video playback instead of 10..

The One S is launching in India with the outdated S3(plus older GPU).This is confirmed on HTC India's homepage: http://www.htc.com/in/smartphones/htc-one-s/#specs .
This is essentially the Sensation with an overclocked processor(hence definitely crappier battery than even the Sensation which is already plagued by battery issues) and a fixed battery along with an overclocked processor is a recipe for disaster. Not to mention the micro SIM and the lacking micro SD card support. The only upgrade is the better Screen. But for Rs.10,000/- more? No freaking way. I'd rather spend less and have microSD support plus a removable battery(and pick up 2 extra batteries and charger for 2k). After waiting for 2 months for this phone to finally launch this is a total disappointment. HTC you've failed us.Taking the third world nations for a bunch of fools will lead to your downfall. You've lost more than a nation's worth of customers across the sub continent.

The whole South East Asia will have the S3 1.7 GHz
http://www.htc.com/sea/smartphones/htc-one-s/#specs

This phone cost the same price US$600 both in taiwan and USA. If you don't want to be an idiot, just boycott this phone.

I wouldn't pay more than US$500 for this S3 powered phone.

hope there will be someone do the new benchmark and battery life test....
actually has been waiting this phone but now been replaced with old tech...
in term of processor, newer always better.can't denied that... if price got lower, maybe still go for it.

Rewired, 02 Jun 2012by naming it differently, it will create more confusionA. Rename it. Just one more minor version for the series. Consumer understand what they are buying.

B. Leave it. Consumer confused about what they are buying. Or even don't notice that they are buying different products.

Which is more confusing?

tramco73, 02 Jun 2012Why dont htc wack a high res lcd on the one s. That together with the 1.7 ghz krait would make... moreI agree. One S with higher resolution and 32GB would have been perfect. I would buy it over the One X.

Rewired, 02 Jun 2012by naming it differently, it will create more confusionNo they are being dishonest. Previously samsung also did a thing like this replacing the exynos in the s11 with a OMAP processor.
