This looks like a contingency order from Huawei.
If TMSC has no more capacity left then it means Huawei had already had their current orders fulfilled.

I'm from Saudi Arabia and I do support Trump's crusade against Huawei. Huawei does not want to open bootloader and let their customers get google apps by flashing them via fastboot/recovery and that means there is a big possibility that Huawei does spy.
If Huawei does not fear anything then it should allow people to open bootloader like other chinese companies such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, and the taiwanese Asus.

          Keep going Trump.

Any phone company currently relying on TSMC will start looking elsewhere. Who loses? In the long run this is not USA vs Huawei but the whole world vs USA

Well, every decision made by the USA to target Huawei isn't helping them at all. It's rather bringing them down due to the "over protectionism" decision by them. A reactive action from them, honestly... Trump really blows out of the water for its own country, either this one or the COVID-19 handling.

USA is losing world leadership to China and they know it.
These desperate moves wont be able to stop anything.
No matter what they do, they wont be able to stop China's world leadership in a decade.

This negatively impacting Huawei isn't the big issue

What does an implication like this mean for any business relationship with the US
