Anonymous, 18 May 2020monopol for what? diversity in user experience not all is about hardware. the user experience ... moreDiversity in user experience would be if the installed OS's would have been other...OS's. Just to move settings arround or do some tweeks does not mean diversity through user experience. Real diversity would have probably come when people would stop buying cheap chinese crapp and start supporting companies that actually innovated. All companies that innovated besides Sony and Nokia, are gone most of them because of copycats like samesung apple and huawawee. The worse part, this are not even the copycats anymore, as now, their is a whole other level of mass copying. What a waste...

Carol, 18 May 2020You just listed a number of some kind of of companies that are pretty much copy paste eachothe... moreThey all buy parts from same sources its not that they could try to be different even if they want to, the fact is there is over 300+ smartphone brands and less than 4-5 companies making displays for said phones... What about camera? Well there its similar story 4-5 again and I hate to say it but knock-off brands have legit reasons for making same products... If they make a NEW product they need the R&D budget to make a new item which smaller brands cannot afford! Worse yet is that doing a new thing vs safe solution is always a concern...

Partnering with carriers is irrelevant. Having competitively priced phones that people want to buy is what matters. In Europe Oppo are pricing their phones to compete with Samsung. That's their problem.

Look at OnePlus in the UK they had 3 network partners at one point but now have reduced their staff their by 80% because no one was buying expensive phones from a brand they hadn't even heard of.

You've gotta earn peoples trust first by making good quality competitively priced budget phones then work your way up. That's how Huawei did it and they became the second biggest seller in Europe that way

If they can drop their prices on their flaghsip they can fight Samsung and Huawei. În The mid range segment together with the Realme they can fight Redmi and Xiaomi. More diversity, better for final costumer.
