We are getting one step closer to the point where Apple will sell empty boxes and have everything available as overpriced accessories.
Acceptable if they can retain the price. Otherwise that's a stupid move.
.ozan, 20 May 2020This will be the new trend. Remember, back in the days phones come with lots of things bundled... moreXiaomi/Redmi haven't included earphones in the package like since the beginning.
That's not happening, you cannot sell a phone without earbuds bundled in some countries
Nic, 20 May 2020Who cares. There are numerous wireless earbuds out there with low prices too. I have already m... moreMaybe people dont want to have headphones that need to be charged? Maybe people know they can pay £3-10 for wired headphones instead of £50 or more for bluetooth ones.
At the end of the day this is bad for consumers no matter how much people defend Apple. Each year you are paying more for the Iphone's but they are taking more and more out the box. Then the consumer has to pay additionally for the headphones if they need them.
Apple wins not the consumers but seems like most people dont mind bending over backwards for Apple.
Nic I do not agree. Even premium bluetooth headsets are a pain regarding sound quality. I had the bose qc2. I don't care about headphone jack btw
No doubt these iphones will all sell millions of units.
The Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony, One Plus, LG, Motorola will all see this and try to do the same.
Apple did something amazing when it made the 1st iphone with the App store but in the last few years Apple havent really added anything to the mobile scene. They just copy others and remove things that should be the norm fr mobile devices.
The isheeps will still buy their products same as with their airpods even though Samsung and Huawei both have better alternatives.
you dont say......... not like they include it before anyway
They hate wires too much.
Removing the jack, removing the dongle from the box, now removing the earphones in the box, will remove the charge port, and eventually no charger in the box.
Man, the master of removing features.
.ozan, 20 May 2020This will be the new trend. Remember, back in the days phones come with lots of things bundled... moreThat only can happen if customers buy instead of change to other brand that include the earbuds and other extra accesories. With people as blind the next step is not include the charger. So you'll have to even buy it separately to make your phone work with the excuse to not increase the price but with the charger will be more expensive than before...
While blind fans and customers not close their wallets in a clear sign of not accept it and also change to other brands, they'll abuse and be as greedy as possible.
So start to close your wallets and change to brands that offer more for less or at equal prices. Wake up!
Whackcar, 20 May 2020And now the iPhone fans will defend this unjustifiable move... Ugh!!!Apple did so much bad things when it comes to the iphones during the years:
5W chargers in the box, removing of the headphone jack to sell separately their wireless headphones or dongles to connect wired ones, no microsd card to force people to buy higher capacity models or pay for more icloud storage, very expensive repairs on their phones to force people (especially in the US) to pay for apple care, very bad interaction with other devices (like android phones or windows laptops) to force people to have ipads and macbooks (because all things work best when all things are Apple). And probably other things that I can't think of right now.
Everything that Apple does is having just one purpose: to make more money and their ways have improved over the years.
Funny, in the end, after all these "things" from Apple, people are still buying iphones a lot. And I know doctors, university professors, engineers, very intelligent people that don't want any other phone except iphone year after year.
So yeah, Apple is here to stay. And no matter how much bad things we say about them, their phones will sell like candy all the time. And probably are the best phones on the market in a lot of ways.
P.S. An Android user.
Nothing New, 20 May 2020So next year , they may sell you the iphone alone and you must buy charger and headphones sep... moreThat will happen when they produce portless iPhones tge only way to charge tgem would be through wireless charging which may not be included in the box
This will be the new trend. Remember, back in the days phones come with lots of things bundled. Earbuds, charger and a separate USB cable, TV out cable, docking station etc. Nowadays, phones are selling well whether these are bundled or not. Most of the users already have couple of chargers, and earbuds in hand. Companies are well aware that bundled accessories costing them money and not really affecting consumers' preference.
If the news are true, Apple won't hold off from being first to remove earbuds. After that other companies would follow.
And yes, AirPods sales will definitely increase especially in the US. We can see, not specifically Apple, but also tech stores bundling AirPods for like half the price with new iPhone purchases.
Who cares. There are numerous wireless earbuds out there with low prices too. I have already moved on with wireless earbuds and so should most people.
I bought AirPods to use on everything but iPhone lol. Tried it on my phone only once, otherwise I'm using them on two Windows systems. Earphones that came with iPhone can only really work with iPhone because they have silly lightning connector... But if they can slash the price of iPhone for 30 bucks by not bundling earphones with it, then sure.
So next year , they may sell you the iphone alone and you must buy charger and headphones separately
As expected from apple
Whackcar, 20 May 2020And now the iPhone fans will defend this unjustifiable move... Ugh!!!Then the portless Iphone 13 is gonna make all their dongles useless again. Cycle repeats.
Whackcar, 20 May 2020And now the iPhone fans will defend this unjustifiable move... Ugh!!!Honestly the company is devilish. Not buying iphones anymore
