Probably looking at something like a PinePhone (+- $150).
My $300 Oneplus One was a stretch at the time (it's still in use).
If it has enough RAM and just runs smooth enough it's good for me. It's a phone, mobile games aren't heavy and if you don't play things like PUBG or Fortnite and FPS don't matter, then springing for a flagship chipset is just throwing away money. Software support, that's really important. If my phone won't last at least 5 years, that's no good.

Though GSMArena polls are always stupid, uninformed and meaningless. Their writers need to go to university and learn accurate and readable research methods and writing styles.
Also I wish they'd use Grammarly or something to check how often they repeat phrases. Most articles use the phrase "paired with" over 5 times.

I really do agree that, this phone would have been better off without the 5G.

To get rid of 5G, the phone would need to have 855 or 855+.
8K is option, but it would not same much money.

I prefer the s765 or + s855 for a lower price. 5G and 8k are not necessary yet. If Xiaomi wants to spend, it will spend 90Hz refresh rate and a better selfie.Who agrees?

I think better have LCD 90hz to take advantage of the CPU , the latest SD or mtk , plastic sturdy build , not the best cameras just like the Poco f1
Or just like Vivo latest phone

Its funny how the gsm arena comment here.
According to them people buying cheaper devices changing them often :) :) :) :)

I reckon that only tech people change every year, then there are those on contract who upgrade once in 2 years and people like me who never went with contract and are changing every 4-6 years.

Gsm arena has no clue (not the first time tho).
Peace

I can't really blame Poco...they are just getting a rebranded K30 Pro from their parent company. If they were really designing their own phone from scratch i think they would have gone with a simpler camera setup with no pop up camera, SD card slot and a plastic back among other things, reducing the price significantly without needing to drop SN865.

Wait doesn't Poco F2 Pro have OIS on the main camera. Getting mixed specs even google give OIS by just searching the sensor.

As stated previously, the Poco F1 cut corners on the screen, and on expensive industrial design on a back panel that nobody usually sees anyway.

As for the 'miracle' of the low price, as I recall, they simply made the F1 one of the last phones to be released with the 845, just before the 855 was released, so presumably they got them cheaper as they were clearing out the old stock, so really it was good timing for Xiaomi to grab the 845 during its last big hurrah before retirement.

It also had a nice fast camera sensor, even if it wasn't high on the megapixel count, it was still well above average at the time, and a major leap for Xiaomi who had had really crappy cameras overall until then, so that part may be subjective.

All of these things could have been replicated on the new Pocophone I think and the same crowd would have bought it for the same reasons at a similar price.

I think I'll be hanging on to my old Pocophone F1 for now until they recapture their winning formula.

Anonymous, 24 May 2020No need for 90hz just lower the price and use lcd displaypeople want amoled 90hz not lcd because of better colours and they also want 865 because its the latest cpu
if you compare the quality of poco f1 and f2 then you will realise f2 is miles ahead that's why it's 150€ more expensive

The 5G licensing and hardware feature for example is already paid in advance to Qualcomm disabling it via software won't change the price of that chipset. Same for the 8K feature.
