StuiWooi, 21 May 2020I'm sorry, what? What does an American military standard have to do with a Korean smartphone? ... moreUSA has military base in South Korea so its near and to control Korea, Japan, Taiwan ROC, and PRC the China mainland, and Russia ... and military base in Australia to control the rest of ASEAN ... cant argue with their techs ... the Planet Earth must deal with it

They should be bringing this to the southeast asian market. I would say it would be a good competitor for china made phones that are targeted on the mass budget concious market.

Note7 owner, 21 May 2020Looks like a solid device that will do 99% of what people need. Good job LG. This is a media consumption device and hence the large screen, will be useless for gaming though. If lg likes mediatek they could have gone for the helio G70, maybe $5 extra bucks cost, really is no surprise they posted a $850 million operating loss for 2019 on their smartphone business.

The phone has already been launched in Europe as K61 for 249 Euro. No fast charging and rather bland design but at least the price is attractive though Android 9 is a real turn-off.

Why are manufacturers trying to hide ugly screen cutouts with wallpapers?
It looks as if they don't believe in their design choice.

A, 21 May 2020Thats for MIL-810 testing. I'm sorry, what? What does an American military standard have to do with a Korean smartphone? What does rounded screen corners and a large chin have to do with a phone surviving harsh environmental conditions??

Isn't it ironical? All OEMs seem painfully proud of their notches, punch-holes and what not. Yet, all promotional material always have the wallpapers covering the holes and notches.

AJJAIN, 21 May 2020rear mounted fingerprint sensor is now outdated , its time to change now, basically LG s all p... moreAnyway both optical and capacitive FPS are outdated, but this is good to have some variety and leave FPS on the back or on the side for those who like them on some phones...
But the real new standard will be ultrasonic FPS, like the 3D Sonic Max that should be on the Galaxy Note20 (hopping they don't fail it because with their single device they will make or break the entire fingerprint scanner future).
The ideal would be when near fulldisplay, side and back ultrasonic FPS will exist !

I love how smartphone brands know the punch hole is so ugly and hated that, despite still putting it because that the easy, lazy and cheap option, most try to hide it with wallpapers, I mean, that's extremely common to see official pictures with such tricks...

But this phone is the perfect exemple of what I usually say :
Why would you put a punch hole or a notch with a chin that big ?
Just put the chin on the top and you have a regular bezel that doesn't break the display and can host more sensors while having as close as possible to a real fullscreen experience !

Or at least it would be the ideal solution if bezel haters didn't existed, because there are bezel haters who will love this phone with its chin but cry if the same phone with no chin and a bezel exactly like that existed...Go figure...

rear mounted fingerprint sensor is now outdated , its time to change now, basically LG s all phones looks same as they put in on back of the phones. changing the strategy to only falgship phones dosent mean that whole scenario will change, they must needs to look at lower mid ranger phones..which is larger number sagement

the design sucks and the wallpaper is extremely sneaky. LG need to go back to the drawing board.

Why do they insist on bringing out phones on Android 9 pie when Android 10 is out? No doubt it'll be over priced as well as out of date. LG stood for Looks Good now it stands for Looks Grim.
